I saw the CTV interview. Trudeau didn't come right out and say he would repeal it, but he did compare it to the legalisation of marijuana, and he spoke of evidence based legislation instead of legislation based on ideology. He also spoke of legislation that was closer to the Supreme Court's original Bedford ruling. So, he was pretty clear, without coming right out and saying he would repeal it. I was heartened by what he said. Of course, if we end up with some kind of Liberal-NDP coalition or alliance, the NDP are on record as being in favour of full legalisation.
Bah. I don't think that's a fair characterization of what he said. Taken in context, he was talking about the ability of a central dictatorship to be responsive in economic decisions. He has come out strongly in favor of dictatorship and thinks China is a eco paradise so there is that.
He sits squarely on the middle. While I would welcome any changes, I feel Justin is a bit of a tool. He just says a bunch of vague things like "yea this sucks, we gotta change it...I'll tell you the details later". Which in political speak means a load of nothing. Besides criticizing almost everything the CONs have done, I can't really say I know which side of the fence he sits on most important issues.
With politicians being the way they are, our only hope is another SC challenge to knock C-36 down, and, hopefully, once and for all.He probably means that he is against the provisions prohibiting advertising and sollicitingnear schools, but he may not be against criminalizing johns as he already declared shortly after supreme Court ruling that prostitution is violence against women and that his party will look at the Nordic model
then why does he say and/or comment on these issues at all? instead he could say nothing at all regarding these issues. While I would welcome any changes, I feel Justin is a bit of a tool. He just says a bunch of vague things like "yea this sucks, we gotta change it...I'll tell you the details later". Which in political speak means a load of nothing. Don't you have any idea how a political campaign is run? The reasons you formulate and hold back your platform is simple, you don't want to give the opposition time to react, pick at your ideas and come up with alternatives. You also don't want to give them a chance to steal your ideas. Its really that simple. Also not too many people are paying attention right nowWhile I would welcome any changes, I feel Justin is a bit of a tool. Electing a Liberal or NDP government, or some kind of combination thereof, gives me some hope C36 will be overturned. With politicians being the way they are, our only hope is another SC challenge to knock C-36 down, and, hopefully, once and for all.
EXACTLY...... Political Speak ( B.S. ) :frusty:He sits squarely on the middle.
Don't bet on that. People don't always vote for who they want. Many vote against incumbent politicians they don't want. I'd say Harper is a prime candidate for being voted against. Doesn't mean Justin is smarter than anybody else. As long as Justin gets to learn to read a teleprompter as well as Obama. No real need to discuss Justin, what he thinks, if he left right or otherwise.
Because Justin is never being elected. Move on folks, nothing to see here!
Damn....too late. I've already bet against Trudeau.Don't bet on that. People don't always vote for who they want. Many vote against incumbent politicians they don't want. I'd say Harper is a prime candidate for being voted against. Doesn't mean Justin is smarter than anybody else. As long as Justin gets to learn to read a teleprompter as well as Obama.
It is a terrible irony that the criminals currently running our government have already turned 4 of my personal and non-harmful activities into criminal acts. And they will keep going!Electing a Liberal or NDP government, or some kind of combination thereof, gives me some hope C36 will be overturned.
Re-electing the Cons gives me no hope that this will happen.
This makes it a really easy decision for me. ABC in '15.
... And yes C36 will be the driving factor behind my vote. This is a personal attack on me. I've been called a pervert by the Justice Minister and I've been made a criminal, even if, so far, in name only. So yes, it's very, very personal.
Stephen Harper is “the most vindictive politician I’ve ever met, someone who I think is ruthless to the bottom”
Harper Cons have “lied, cheated, stole elections, cancelled other people’s rights, and in the process crushed a lot of people”

Absolutely. No truer words spoken. We should be all in on this one. Let's put all our efforts together to throw those bums out of office.Electing a Liberal or NDP government, or some kind of combination thereof, gives me some hope C36 will be overturned.

How can you say making all of us criminals with a stroke of a pen for consensual is insignificant?Wow. Your view of a country's government and it's responsibilities is so so sooooooo narrow.
You have a right to vote as you please....in this case...on a very very very insignificant topic. But go ahead.
Thank you TeasePlease. May I quote you the next time I hear someone bashing JT on that issue?Bah. I don't think that's a fair characterization of what he said. Taken in context, he was talking about the ability of a central dictatorship to be responsive in economic decisions.
