Wherever I shouldn't be
Georges Vezina? Jacques Plante?. I think seriously the leafs need to bring back Allan Bester.

The only reason I would have to say Eddie is because he can handle the puck & at times is like a 3rd defense man. Plus a great buy at 1 million less then Cujo... :)

Eddie all the way. He doesent flop around like a wounded Duck.
I`ve been a Leaf fan and Belfour fan a long time. He has to one of the best of all time.

i would go with eddie

He is a proven playoff performer. as someone stated earlier his stick handling and ability to get the puck back into neutral ice helps with toronto's transition game and you dont see defensmen getting plastered while trying to retreive the puck in the defensive end.

If i had to pick i would go with peter Ing (the guy that stopped Wayne Gretzky on a penalty shot) or ken Wregget.

seriously in terms of goalies with playoff credentials its a two horse race with martin Brodeur and eddie belfour.

Eddie Chadwick, Don Simmons and Bruce Gamble

For those too young to remember they are all Leaf goalies but perhaps not the best ever but they tried.

Chadwick got fired by Punch Imlach for Bower as I recall, Simmons was Bower's back up on the first 3 Cup runs in 1962/4 and Gamble played in early 1970's.

Actually, Johnny Bower is my main guy.

I remember the night in early '60's when Allan Stanley who perfected the defenceman behind the net watching for the forwards moving and the perfect pass came out from behind the net on his backhand and popped it in behind Bower. These were the days before goalie masks and I will always remember Bower's facial expression. Thank God he was not miked!

Then Leaf Fans there was the night at Maple Leaf Gardens in @ 1959 the opposition ( I cannot remember who but probably Boston lifted the puck high out of their end and it hit the ancient clock and into the net behind a naturally befuddled Bower. He lost the puck in the lights!
If they wanted to score on Johnny they had to rely on "bank" shots!
