I was reading in TV Guide and it said. "If you were to ask the top 10 PGA pros to name the most 'underrated' golfer? They unanimously would choose Tiger Woods."

Its something that really makes you think. How good is Tiger? We all know of his success, but the majority of us don't realize "how good." Just thinking out loud. --- Kev

A PGA pro told me a story about Tiger in college. On the driving range, right before his match, there was a structure out on the range. His final routine was hitting a 7 iron low and straight at the tower, then high and straight, then a low draw, then a high draw, then a low fade and then a high fade. Everyone stopped and watchd in amazement. He has the shot making ability of Seve and Chi Chi, the long iron ability of Nicklaus, the putting ability of Faxon and Crenshaw, the driving distance of Daly, a short game like Phil and the tenacity of Butkus. :) I love watching the man play.

Bandit - Tiger is still good, I think to him he just doesnt need to prove himself anymore. Hes rich beyond belief, has the recognition, has a brand spanking new blonde bombshell for a wife, inspired many people into taking up golf.

I don't think Tiger does what he does to proof anything to anyone. He just goes out and plays, and lets the chips fall where they may. Something i would say his father would have instiled in him at a young age. He is the best that the golfing fraternity has ever seen to date, but hes also human. No one in sport, any sport has achieved what Tiger has achieved at such a young age yet the elite in his own proffession think hes underrated. Sheesh when you think about it thats deep. Pick a sport that you love and try to find an equal. I can't, and i don't even like golf. --- Kev

But he doesn't have enough records yet to satisfy himself. That is his motivation. But with all that he has (as you've pointed out) and the way the rest of the field is improving will it be enough for him to play well enough to be regarded the best ever? He needs to keep it going for about 8-10 more years at the top.

Johnny Miller says he should go back to his reliable power fade which is his bread & butter. But Tiger says he's working on something - power draw? and it's going to take some time to see fruition. This sounds eerily like in 1998-99 when he was re-structuring his swing & then cleaned up in 2000.
