I've been trying to read all the threads and news surrounding the new law in place as of last week. I'm still so confused. I am hoping someone can help me lay it all out. I don't think I'm the only one that is a little scared of being a hobbyist now and not having a full understanding of what this new law means.

1. It's illegal to advertise for sex, but ok to sell it as long as no one knows?
2. Police will enforce strictly and more frequently at hotels and condos where these acts occur?
2. Are MPs affected by this? - meaning more raids and arrests if you are caught getting a rub-n-tug?

Those are basically my questions.

I hope someone wouldn't mind clearing my mind.

Thanks.

1. Not illegal to advertise sexual services if you're the one providing them. But its illegal to buy them.

2. Maybe. They could, or they may not. It all depends.

2. Yes. Maybe. See my answer to your first number 2

The government's background info seems to suggest that 3rd parties would be charged for illicit or explicit advertising, but not SPs due to their immunity.

Technically speaking, and I will submit this question to someone else for a clear answer, the advertising offence's scope applies to EVERYONE. That is, there's no exclusion for SPs, FOR THAT OFFENCE. It's only LATER in the statute that immunity from prosecution for that offence is granted if the advertiser is the one providing said sexual services.

For a john, advertising is not your concern, however, seeing a provider that explicitly advertises a sexual menu might act like a lightning rod for LE, which you don't want.
