He's probably one of the more respected coaches in the NHL. 3 hundred point seasons (including this one *jinx*) and a 99 point season in the last 4 years is not bad. He's definitely a better coach than GM.

if the leafs don't progress beyond the first round this year or end up losing in the second round then perhaps it would be time to review the coaching.

he only needs to retire because his coaching style is old school. Which is ok for this team because they are a veteran squad (ok old). I think next year the Leafs need some new young blood to compliment the new GM and his new school philosophies. Quinn was/is an excellent coach. No question. Has his time expired? If not yes then very soon i think. I loved him in Vancouver when i lived there and happy to see him come to the Leafs when he did. Ill miss him but after they win the Cup this year he'll be happy to retire

I used to watch the Leafs religiously. I began watching them when I was 5 years old long before the helmet rule came into affect. That was 30 years ago. I sport a Leaf jersey signed by my favorite player #27 - Daryl Sittler. I used to do the web work for Frameworth; the only NHL Licensed Framing Company. They are the people that have the silent auctions at the ACC. Anyways.. that's where Sittler signed my jersey in permanent ink. I wear it once in a while. Wore it once in a Home Depot store the years that I would watch them and a guy almost had a stroke when he saw I was wearing it and who it was signed by... lol

Anyways.. the point of my post.. (don't you hate it when women talk about sports?)...

I stopped a couple of years ago from a broken heart :(
Saw a few players on the team skate hard instead of just for money and they wanted to win badly. Can't remember the year.. but it was during the playoffs when Toronto suffered all those injuries and still made it pretty far.. I'm sure you guys remember that year. My father being an avid Hawk fan even admitted that Toronto tried hard and he hates the leafs ..lol.

Anyways.. at that time I had said.. somethings wrong here. Maybe I am spoiled since I lived in Edmonton during the cup years and I had an opportunity to watch hockey played so syncronized that it was like ballet on ice. Maybe my expectations are too high.. but the year of injuries as I call it.. I noticed that many of the team members were just not in sync to each other. The passes went by and were shot into empty space.. it seemed like most of the players didn't know each other on the ice.

That's the first time I had mentioned that I think Quinn has to go. Not his fault really.. I thought maybe the players just didn't respect him anymore.. maybe they just chose not to follow his lead.

I dunno.. I'm rambling here.. lol.
