C36 Speculation: We need some data

There's a lot of speculation, anecdotal information, and opinion about life post-C36. It would be good to get a little data - even if incomplete. I'm hoping there is someone in our midst who could work up a good reporting mechanism.

Good to know if there is an increase in LE visits to spa's, independent massage providers .... maybe broken out by area (Scarborough, Downtown ....)

Same for escorts: large agencies, small 'co-ops', independents...

And for strip clubs

Good to know if it makes a difference where the providers advertise - does LE seem to be targeting those who advertise on BP, or Redzone, craigslist, or independents websites ....

Guess I have in mind a somewhat elaborate report site somewhere on terb where a member could say: I was visited, this was the outcome, this is my 'provider category', this is where I advertise ...

Same sort of approach for clientele who have an interaction with LE: it happened when I was visiting a spa, or a hotel room, or.... this is where I saw the ad that brought me there ... this was the outcome....

I've probably made this too complex. Maybe a separate report form for each of the categories?

Hope a better mind will come up with something practical.

The data which you seek will come forth once the police, with the guidance of the crown, start laying charges. Once this stage has been entered, the findings of the courts will show the police/crown if they are going in the right direction, with regards to the charges laid.
The final stage is after an appeal has been made and what the findings of the court is.

Most likely the police will go after the low lying fruit first, that being the street. This is a target rich environment where a sting works well and sweeps. Secondly, busy high traffic agencies, while working from a complaint, neighbour or property manager. This would be the same for spas, as no one knows the line yet.

As far as advertisers, they can advertise their "services". The law targets the consumer of such services.

Well yeah. Charges laid will certainly provide one sort of hard data.

And your estimate of where they will start is plausible.

I just noticed a posting in the Durham section suggesting that LE had been systematically booking appointments with providers, and visiting them. Speculation was that they were building a little database of known providers and their favoured locations in preparation for some surveillance and arrests.

So I wondered: are there safer and less safe places to advertise? Maybe. Are there safer and less safe places to provide? Probably. Etc.

LE in Durham seems to have been doing this in preparation, in order to work with the new law coming into effect. I have this confirmed by 2 sources, independent of one another.

Advertising is not illegal.

As far what one does, without aid of data, it is up to the individual. The law is genius with regards to enforcement. They know they will never stop the oldest profession, so let's make the consumer pay the ultimate price. This is how they put a dent into the trade, until such time as we learn how to navigate these waters.
