I was in a club in the GTA a month ago or so and noticed a rather interesting and (in my opinion) heartwarming interaction. From what I could tell a disabled lad came to the club with his friends. The club btw is one that is known for extras. It seems his buddies pooled their funds together for his trip to the VIP with a dancer who is known for going the extra mile (I know, I've been with her and she is all about the menu). So a guy who in all likelihood gets ignored by civilian women in real life got to (very likely) have a sexual encounter with a knockout.

Now, on to the post C-36 era. Here we have a set of people who, for no fault of their own, have limited chances of sexual fulfilment. If they try to obtain that experience via the commercial route they will be now classified as criminals.

Indeed. C36 is inhuman but the inhumaneness of it is never discussed by the prudish and brain dead Harper Taliban regime

BTW prostitution and solicitation is not illegal as long as you are a sex surrogate. While I am unsure of the technicalities involved, sex surrogates for disabled war vets are paid for by your donations when you buy a pretend poppy on Rememberance day

How will they deal with all the blood on their hands and taking away our rights and creating unsafe conditions for women. What will they do with all the blood on their hands from increased suicide rates from people who can not get sex normally due to various reasons even physical disability? How will they deal with all the broken marriages and the negative effects to children and society. What will they do when all the good people start turning and contribute negatively to a society...nothing good can come of this new bill...it is a very shameful time is the progression of Canadian society...it is actually a regression.

Well said Pably. That's why any "ïsm" is destructive to humanity. They only see things in one straight line and have no empathy/sympathy/consideration for any other dimensions of the human dynamics. This is true of the Taliban Conservatives. Let's pool our resources together to kick them out of office in the next election....ABC!!!

Me thinks you have exaggerated

But I cannot help but think that this bill is politically driven by Christian ethics

Before Christianity took over the social view of sex was more in line with nature (IE Roman bath houses as one of many examples)

Christianity was, and still is, a goofy religion of self sacrifice because Christ sacrificed himself on the cross and Christians believe he never had sex. Therefore, we should follow that same path as atonement for our sinning nature

Christianity is the most sexually oppressive of all religions. Islam is worse but it is based on Christianity. They believe in all the prophets of the old testament and believe Christ is also one of the great prophets. Mohammed is considered the last of the prophets.

Christians believe North America was given to Christians by God. Jews believe Israel was given to the Jews by God after he told Moses the ten commandments which God insisted on being carried in a golden box that has miraculous powers (the Arc of the covenant). Muslims believe Mohammed climbed a golden stairway to heaven that he got to by riding a flying horse then came back to talk about it. This location is called The Dome of the Rock and is situated in the middle of the plateau called the temple mount. This is where the second Jewish temple had stood. The first one was Built by King Solomon(same location) and is where they stored the Arc in the center (the holiest of hollies)

Why would God/Allah be so partial to gold?

How can you use reason with people with that head space

Answer this question as objectively as possible please? Do you believe this bill is ethical? Consider everything and please share your thoughts. I thought this through, I pondered this through, I tried to put my self in all positions and situations . I was quite surprised what came out of it really thinking this through and thus why I shared my thoughts above.

I saw a documentary a few years ago that tried to answer the question of why religion has trouble dealing with sexuality. After watching it I still didn't understand and I don't think those who made the documentary did either. It is disturbing when otherwise intelligent people allow themselves to be controlled by religion. The liberal Christian denominations encourage their followers to think for themselves.

The Harper govt. has been concerned lately about registered charities being too involved in political activity. Some charities that are critical of the govt. have been audited by the CRA. I wonder why then the Evangelical Fellowship was allowed to testify at the C-36 hearings. The most disturbing thing I heard was when a Cons. senator asked a representative from the Evangelical Fellowship if she thought the govt. had the right to control what consenting adults do in private. She said absolutely, the govt. is the only entity that has that right. It was clear the senator was happy with that answer. The Courts are the only thing that will save us from living in a police state as long as the Conservatives are in power.

They will probably deal with it the same way they deal with the Military Veterans who lost their minds or limbs for the governments foreign policy:

"Cheer the fuck, get a job, if you have a problem here;s a self help website and a toll-free number to some call centre 700 miles away and they'll read you the reasons why you're not eligible for any other help! And don't even think about pestering the government for any more assistance! Oh an God bless out troops of course!"

C36 is absolutely unethical

We have a right to do WTF we want as long as it does no harm

To take these rights away for moral reasons is to spit on the grave of every soldier who died for our rights

Especially when it comes to a basic human need

A Canadian has a right to food - if they cannot afford it it as paid for by the state

A Canadian has a right to housing - if they cannot afford it it as paid for by the state

A Canadian has a right to medical care - paid for by the state

After these 3 basic human needs the next one (according to Freud ) is sex - this is the only basic need the state does not ensure you have, indeed, they want to ensure a certain segment of our population does not have it and if they seek it by the only way open to them ( by paying for it) they are thrown in jail

This is cruel nonsense right up there with medieval burning of witches

A few years ago there was a TV show from Australia called Sex/Life. There was a story about a young woman with cerebral palsy. She uses a wheel chair and has difficulty speaking. She had never experienced sex with a man so a friend helped her hire a male escort. The friend helped her with her makeup and hair and helped pick out a dress for her date. After the session was over the friend said the young woman had a grin on her face a mile wide and was looking forward to seeing the escort again. Under C-36 the young woman would be a criminal.
