Well I've read a lot about this bull shit c36 bill. Part of the bill States it'll be illegal to communicate or advertise for the purpose of prostitution. . Well can't the Conservatives or police for that matter target Web sites like terb for that very purpose. I assume that terb is broadcasting from outdide Canada but how will the Web providers not be charged under the new law for allowing terb. And couldn't police target more frequent posters. Especially ones that provide lots of revues???
Call me paranoid.... I'm just wondering

BTW. The Conservatives will pollute the fuck out of the planet... They'll rig the economy to support the dying oil industry..... They don't give a fuck about our kids university tuition or future of our environment... And that's all legal with just 40% off the vote. But if I want to harmlessly get a message or some romance with a women of her own free will I'm committing a FEDERAL OFFENCE. . I hope they all get penis cancer and die!!!

Yes it's a crazy country with the Harper conservatives in power.

Sex with consenting adult: possible 5 years in jail.

RED EARTH CREEK, Alta. – The Alberta Energy Regulator says close to 60,000 litres of crude oil have spilled into muskeg in the province’s north.

An incident report by the regulator states that a mechanical failure was reported Thursday at a Canadian Natural Resources Limited (TSX:CNQ) pipeline approximately 27 kilometres north of Red Earth Creek.
No arrests, no fines, no jail time.

Well, there will be a down period, not for TERB, but for the industry in general, as things get sorted out and we learn how to proceed in this new era.

Firstly, it's not as if the cops are going to do a blitz on agencies and indies who work out of their home. The blitz will be on for girls who work the streets, targeting their customer base. The reason, it's easy for them, in time and showing their political overseers that they are doing their job. Put it like this, the cop who sets up a speeding trap, at the bottom of a hill. It doesn't take a physics major to know that an object in motion (doing the speed limit cresting the hill) will pick up more speed as it descends the hill. Ah gravity and its wily ways. The travelling girls who go from town to town will also be a target, the reason, in some towns there are only so many hotels/motels and they will get to be known, if they aren't already and will become a target for the cops because of the this. Easy pickings.
Also, they are not going to tap the agencies or indies phones, the reason, the amount of work involved in trying to show the need for a wire tap and the cost involved in running that tap. But, if the police do bust in on a girl, they will seize her phone. Now, if the cops don't get a warrant to seize her phone and its records, then it might get thrown out of court, the same for the poor slob who's found there.

The unfortunate part about cell phones, even though we may delete the conversation and the number from our device. Your cell phone provider has records of everything that you have done. Here's where a hobby phone comes in. Pay cash for it and register it in a fictitious name and always pay cash for the airtime. Don't be a fool and hope that the agencies and indies are doing this and the record will show with their provider too. Like everything, they may want to keep certain numbers programmed in, sort of like a safe list for them, knowing that it's a trusted customer.

The demise of TERB is unfounded; "The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated." Like all things, we as users are going to have to learn to negotiate this new era and be vigilant in how we use this board. Like a certain area here, we just can't put things as openly as we have for years. We are already wary of new guys and thinking that they are LE. In this new era, we will have to be even more vigilant in our vetting process of new members.

"I only paid for companionship but got so much more ..."
I do not believe the law makes even posting about one's sexual activities to be a crime. People should go to their session with something else on hand - deck of cards, current popular book, portable chessboard. "I only wanted to play some clubbyish so I thought it odd when she told me to take a shower first. And when I came out of the bathroom..."

Also appropriate for Harper Cons' attempts to impose their own misguided and hypocritical morality on me: "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."

While this may seem to be a good strategy for defense, remember this, if you do find yourself staring down at a charge, it may be the police just feeling their way around this law, with the help of the crown. Or, the fact that with the help and guidance of the crown, they have done their due diligence in investigative work and have laid the charge and will let the facts come out in court. There has to be test cases in order for them to get it right. Are you willing to be used as a guinea pig as the police/crown take their new laws out for a test drive?

Terb is Mackay's secret weapon to inflict fear

Terb is Mackay's secret weapon to inflict fear in the hobbyist's mind. Just read some of the posts here such as those from Terb residents Fuji, Capital Hunter etc. That is how C-36 is supposed to work. Why would the govt. want Terb to close ? The first few C-36 arrests will be widely broadcast here and no doubt that will have an impact.

Charging internet providers for merely being the meduim on which others discuss and advertise? I seriously doubt that. They risk making that a freedom of speech precedent which I suspect the media would have a problem with. I think that would probably be the fastest way to bring corporate legal coffers into the fight against C36 and mobilize various cyber-freedom groups who might otherwise not have touched the c36 debate.

Yes, because
1. I do not accept that MacKay has the authority to determine what me and a consenting adult do with my penis, and
2. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong.
and
3. I would see it as being a guinea pig for Alan Young to take this new legislation out for a test drive in front of the Supreme Court. I'm too old to let some traitorous oil company lobbyists who have seized control of the country get away with this shit. :canada:

Besides, would it really be so bad to go from just another obscure john to being a public spokesman for sexual rights in Canada? I'm single so I'm not cheating on anyone, have never forced myself on an unwilling or trafficked woman, and don't see how paying for sex can be a crime in itself. I could launch an indiegogo fund raising campaign, start a web site dedicated to sex rights, write magazine articles ($$$), be the keynote speaker at terb AGM, etc.:thumb:

And I'd also use the opportunity to get some shots in against the Harper government on their irrational fear-mongering about cannabis.:hippie:
