I have seen a lot of posts commenting how bad this city (I may have submited 1 or 2 myself).
Now, I have lived in this city for a couple of years now and I can say that when I first moved here I thought that this city sucked.
Bars seemed to be dead. You couldn't get a decent massage, and SPs were nothing special. There wasn't much else to do for fun. You had to cough up your first born to be allowed to Smoke. And I had to suffer through Sen's hockey.
However, lately I have felt my views changing.
Although, I still have to suffer Sen's hockey and MPs are still something to stay away from (travel is recommened) there are positives.
The no smoking policy allowed me to quit (it was actually one of the easiest things I have ever done). SPs seem to have improved and it seems like more and more are visiting us from out of town which is a definate plus..
Bars have definately gotten better ( I think I am spending more time in the VIP than at the bar).
We have IMHO some of the best trails for rollarblading and in the winter we get to skate on the Canal.
Quebec is only across the river so we get the casino, restaurants where you can bring in your own wine, much cheeper beer (wow), and cheeper gas (sometimes).
If you want to road trip then Montreal is only 1-2 Hour drive away.
And we also have BOB (now that makes it all worth it right there)
It's like everything is just around the corner from us.
I know Ottawa isn't the garden of Eden but we do have a good view of it.
Just wanted to share that thought
Thanks
