Sheraton Hotel Downtown Hamilton

Well...it certainly is downtown..reminds me why I usually avoid downtowns in most cities.

On the good side - very nice room and very comfortable, yes "devine" bed.

Great high speed Internet connection but costs $14.95 per day vs free at Radisson Mississauga and room only $US37/night via Priceline vs $US47 here at Sheraton.

They let me check in early (2pm) but didn't have any regular rooms with Internet but they moved me to a larger "parlor" room at no extra cost. Has a couch and extra chair in the "parlor" area next to nice big desk (similar to Radisson Mississauga) with Internet connection. Like in Mississauga the connection is even faster than my cable in Phoenix.

I am not a "shopper" so big mall connected not that big of a deal. Except handy if need a few things forgot to bring. And I can easily get my Wall Street Journal and USA Today unlike very hard to get in Mississauga.

On the downside, have to pay $7.95 day for parking which is underground. Calling out even to an 800 number is $1.49 a call.

I had the misfortune of being here with a big something concert attracting zillions of youth in the convention center in the same block. Traffic was at a standstill for many blocks. I got caught in the mess leaving and then when returned Fri night soon after the whatever it was ended. Also some streets are a mess getting ready for come big International Cycling event next week.

Overall summary - very nice room, a bit expensive even via Priceline with the extras and confirms I prefer to avoid downtowns.

I do like the high speed Internet which I won't have in Niagara Falls, just dial up, but $14.95/day a bit high vs free in Mississauga..maybe I'm just spoiled by Radisson Mississauga where I stay when in Toronto...as I did last night and will on my final night of this trip, next Monday your Thanksgiving.
