Dunno if I should be posting here. But I would like some suggestions for those in the stock market. I have pretty much sold all my stocks and made $$$ out of it. I have 1 last stock left, evil RIM.

Right now its at 19.10. When I bought it, it was at 44.09. I have 100 quantity with it. I've been inching wanting to sell this darn stock, but from people I hear, they think I should hold on to it until the new blackberry comes out. But, its dropping like motherfker everyday.

Sell RIM, buy GROUPON. GROUPON doesn't make any money, the stock should be a hottie. Just kidding (I think)!

For me. I personally just wanna stay away from the stock market for a while. I manage to sell my other stocks such as BMO, bombardier, TD, and Talisman and made some decent $$$ off them. RIM has been dragging me down. I want to sell RIM but want to do it at the right time. It's already low enough, that's the only reason why I thought about waiting a bit longer.

If you are an investor, it probably makes sense to hold on to BMO and TD. If you are a trader, then maybe try to buy back in at a lower price and flip them again when the price goes up (easier said than done for most people).

True, I just don't wanna gamble with this economy right now. I could wait, but I already waited long enough to earn some decent $$ off BMO and TD.

For me, I just want to know if there's any chance RIM would rise in the future, if not, its prob best to sell it now. Their delay really piss me off, I was expecting the new blackberry to come out by Christmas.

But ya, its easier said than done. I just won't want to wait till RIM drops under 10 dollar a share, then it really makes this stock more useless than it already is.

Sell now. You won't have to worry about it anymore, which is worth something. Take the capital loss and it will be applied against the capital gains from the sale of the other stocks. You will at least recover the tax on the capital loss.

If you wait, then you will be worrying for a while. A worry free mind has value.

But, if you like to gamble, which is what you are doing by hoping that "maybe" things will change, you can still sell, take the proceeds to Fallsview and put it all on 17 Black.

It will take a long time for RIM to recover. If ever... The BB's aren't selling at all right now at any mobile phone outlets and that is RIM's breadbasket.

Dude, you are hanging on to what other investors would call a "falling knife".

RIM is the sinking Boat! Why would you stay in sinking boat and hoping it will float to shore? Swim across to the other boats while you can. If i were you, I will dump RIM and buy other Bargains which has alot more potentials. There are many other stocks under-priced and have more potential to grow than RIM.

Should have bought GROUPON. It is up 50% in 1 day of trading. Some market players love "concept" stocks that make no profits and have no hard assets.

Long story. I wasn't as active in the stock market a few years ago, I usually let parents handle them. But now I have mature more in this area and start to really understand the stock market. Back then, I just never really cared about it, and let the elders take care of it. It is what it is. I loss money on RIM, but I want to see if I can reduce the loss. I know RIM won't ever get bk to hay days. I bought rim at around 44.00 a share, I just want to see if there's a slight chance they can get bk to the 30.00 range either by RIM being bought by another investor company. It did went up like 5 dollars a share with those rumours, and also whether the new blackberry early next year would do any good.

RIM is RIP. When u have two ceos trying to run the company it means there is no leadership. Iphone and android phones are gonna dominate.

I guess if business people stop using blackberry, RIM would officially go dead.
Apple had Steve Jobs. RIM got 2 clowns. One of them was too busy trying to buy Hockey team for a few years. No wonder company went downhill.

RIM is going to be using QNX Neutrino RTOS for the new version of Blackberry OS for up coming Smartphones. QNX was and is used for mission critical operations. RTOS stands for Real Time Operating System. That means it's expected to respnd to commands virtually in an instant, very little delay. I have been a hater of Blackberry myself and would prefer to use Android, iPhone or even Windows Phone before I would pick up a BB. However, I have to say that QNX really is a great OS with a stable kernel, has run well on POS (Point of Sales) systems and Dashboard systems (in vehicles). I have ran it as a Desktop OS, it's fast, stable and reliable. So this could be a good thing for RIM. Also, considering all the teenagers / young people who use BBM to gossip and such I don't think that Blackberry is going anywhere anytime soon.

They are already using QNX in their tablets, matter of fact:
http://www.qnx.com/company/announcements/blackberry_tablet_os.html

QNX phone:

Whatever you do, don't buy a BB running Blackberry OS 7 because it's really just 6.1.

It`s kinda late to cut your losses being down over 50% and needing a 130% bounce to get out of the hole.
Even a 5-10% bounce will do little to cut your losses.
I wouldn`t count on any significant and sustainable reversal to the major down trend on RIM.
I would sell it and move on.
RIM is only good for fresh money traders for a quick modest bounce off of new lows and even that is very risky with this piece of shit as you need to buy way more than 100 shares to make it worthwhile and reasonably viable.
