Was watching BNN a few days ago and one of their guests made a compelling case for Microsoft taking a run at RIM because:
1) RIM currently is dirt cheap.
2) Microsoft has Nokia but it is a "low end" producer (i.e. makes cellphones for trailer park folks) and not the high end smart phone business that RIM is in.
