No surprise. They would be lucky to be as relevant as Nokia.

Maybe not Nortel in the making.

Guess those who engage pair trade, say Long AAPL while shorting RIMM made a killing or something.

Could be a takeover target. One of their competitors could take them out and reduce the field of competitors. Hope Tony "deal killer" Clement doesn't see this. Hope Tony Clement (the little dictator) lose his seat in the election. If he does, maybe an Egyptian telecom company will offer him a job.

Too late. Microsoft has his man Elop running Nokia. The latter is going to use Windows 7 for their smart phone going forward.

Honestly, if Tony the Tory could not let the business friendly deals happen under his watch, it would be almost impossible to have the Pinko Kook, aka NDP to let RIMM a takeover target by anybody, be Chinese, Indians, even Americans.

Speaking of Tony Clement, what a bunch of leftie loonie nonsense when he uses the term "strategic asset", isn't the same codeword the Chinese use to block foreign takeovers on their businesses?

BTW, not going to be surprised RIM is going down fast below $40. Hee, hee, hee.

It would be awful for Canada to lose RIM. All the Waterloo graduates will run south to seek their fortune. Maybe the Canadian government will bail them out like General Motors.

RIM had their chance. They laughed when Apple launched the iPhone. They continued to rest on their laurels. Once they realized their plight, it was too late. Far too late.

Even the staunchest Blackberry users at my work said they're done with their handsets. Currently, looking at iPhones and Android.

No offense, RIM gets what they deserve and then some.

And you have pretty inconsistent policies from Ottawa to hasten their demise.

All the Waterloo graduates will run south to seek their fortune.
Ouch, the best and the brightest would rather take worth-less USD than bubbly Loonie as take home pay.

No chance since unlike the CAW, no politicians I could recall are doing RIM's bidding.

Not going to be surprised one of the big six banks here would start to replace crackberry by Android, even iPhones for business use going forward.

Maybe the only crackberry users remaining would be those government workers.

Yup.

I've seen many stories over the last two years of major banks switching to iPhone. No surprise, same thing with Android.

I have a Torch right now. I've had it for around 2 months now. I've had more problems with it than the year and a half with my iPhone 3GS.

LOL, no smartphones or tablets for me since I am naive to believe UBB is here to stay by gambling $$$ for hobbying in RCI.B and AT&T. :frusty:

Plus those commodities remind me of gadget porn, i.e. making people hot and bothered to get one on hand, albeit short shelf life.

Meanwhile, still waiting to get the top of the line iPad 2 free by redeeming reward miles. Hee, hee, hee.

Buyout of RIM is unlikely. HP already has WEBOS from Palm and I think all the OS players are set in stone. Like I said, no carrier wants to sell RIM phones as they have to share the Data Plan $$ with RIM as all data goes through RIMs infrastructure. That model is toast. So now.. they are left with discounting.

ROFLMAO, looks like those "patriotic" Canadian analysts covering RIMM admit they are wrong and throw the towels, albeit late compared to their American counterparts. :p

Wish RIM good luck if they are still relevant like Nokia and other also-ran like the Koreans Samsung and LG.

Things started on their downward path when their leader decided he was more interested in becoming an NHL team owner.

Without respected leadership leading constant REAL innovation, this is what happens.
Actually it should be one of the leaders.

BTW, not going to get their crackberry playbook when I could get one for free.

Well unless you can get something else for free that is better then you are being an idiot. I was playing with one on the weekend, and it is definitely a very nice piece. Get one for free.. I will pay you $100 to lose it lol...of course for what they are asking people to pay it is a complete rip.

I could get the iPad (1st gen) for free but like the playbook, no thank you. :thumb:

No surprise you are into the gadget porn.

In the meantime, I enjoy every min to squeeze and profit every penny by UBB at Rogers, AT&T of the world. Feel content enough not to get greedy by taking risk and selling short RIMM below $40. LOL.

I honestly hope they get their act together because I have a lot of friends that would be layed off if the company goes under. From what they tell me their management has an egocentric, old school, arrogant, dictatorial atmosphere who doesn't welcome ideas to the table to make the company better. They reap what they saw. Hopefully this failure with the playbook really hits home and they can change their ways.
