A friend of mine told me that her husband can't access his cash on Poker Stars.
This seems hard to believe.
If they are in some trouble, this would make things way worse.

Early Saturday, PokerStars posted a statement to its players through its computer software and on Twitter. The company said it has had to suspend real money play to customers based in the United States.
“Please be assured player balances are safe. There is no cause for concern,” the company said. “For all customers outside the U.S. it is business as usual.”

PokerStars was completely dead when I logged in last night to play. Luckily I don't have much of a balance. There's going to be a mass exodus of cash out of those sites once the money freezing is lifted by FBI.

Full tilt is running as usual, but without the US players at the real money tables. I had to download the site again, and instead of using .com, or .net had to use the UK download. All the tournaments are running but all the prizes have been cut in half.

Like Barney Frank said, "Adults are entitled to do with their money what they want to do."

This isn't just a poker issue. It's a civil liberties issue. I'm surprised it isn't bigger news than it is.

Works for me.
i didn't word it right, I meant dead as in there's very little volume compared to the usual number of tables/players, but yes of course you can still log and play with folks from south africa, finland et al. given the time zone differences though not too many players during what my prime time is. I play 3 tables at a time and after switching a few tables and was back where I started !

its money the gov't doesn't get a cut of, cough up 50% of the revenue and they'll have absolutely no problem with it.

With indictments of the 11 people on Friday, Preet Bharara, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, has now charged more people for money laundering and bank fraud from these 3 poker sites than all the indictments from the financial meltdown from a few years ago.
