If you bought at Apple Store for $725, it should be an unlocked phone that can go with any provider.

That's alot of money for a locked phone as another poster said u can buy it unlocked at apple and it's only 279 on an upgrade to a contract

I signed a 3yr contract with fido to get the handset. Fido out of stock so I get in from the apple store
Exchange yes but doubtful on return of a "subsidized" phone

Yes I could sell it on eBay for more but less hassle here.

I think it's 15 days, 30 minutes of airtime, unlimited text.

If either of the 15 (could be 14) days or 30 minutes of airtime are exceeded, they won't take the phone back.

theres nothing fishy about this, Apple store sells iphones locked to carriers they started doing this with the 3gs... he paid the upgraded price of $269 and now is trying to sell it for $650 which is a great deal since there are lots of people that cannot get the iphone at the upgrade price if their carrier contract is still over 6 months.
