Potash will not see $100 anytime soon. In my opinion, and with all the news coverage recently, I think the target price for Potash will reach $160 - $180 over the next 6 to 12 months. This is a great purchase with very little downside. The global need for this mineral is abundant and it will only become more and more valuable as growing economies need to cultivate fertilizer.
My broker tells me the VALUE for Pot is $165 CDN ... but management is weak and is not able to get full value for the business. The current price assumes either another offer, or a modified BPH offer. Shareholders will not benefit from any revised offer as it will be to provide more for government kickbacks than for shareholders. So my bet is that the price will go down before it goes up -- but it will go up. Perhaps consider an ETF play on the market rather than just a single firm play.
I sold this stock at $145 and regret it but I bought it back on Friday at nearly $141 , I think BHP will come back with stornger offer it's hard for Gov to say NO. I also think it was under valued for a while. I think chances of POT going above $160 is higher than going under $130.
