Anywhere there's a Strip Joint
Those brands are way over-priced anyways....you can get a good 6ft for $10. Do you work for FS or BB.

For an amp, subwoofer, and install and you think that's too much. What kind of cheap stuff are used to buying.

i've nvr understood the whole gold tip thing. i bought a Acer 24inch monitor last summer and it came with an HDMI cable without the gold tip. I was about to buy one before I found out my monitor came with one. does it really make a difference gold tip or not? like at the moment my playstation is hooked up to the monitor and it looks fantastic...i'd need some really good proof to actually shell out $100-$200 for gold tips...

Digital is either on or off; there's no in-between. Besides, my cheap HDMI cable from Monoprice.com came with gold-plated connectors anyway. I'm pretty sure I got a 25-footer for under $25 bucks.

way out in left field
gold connectors: in addition to a better connection, they also prevent oxidization of the ends/connectors which will interfere with the data/signal transmission...

as for "it's digital, it is either on or it's off" that isn't necessarily true. There is also a speed factor to be considered. Otherwise, we could all just use dial up. The latest version is 1.3b I believe. The latest allows for faster transmission of the digital information.

As for "go gold or not" I look at it this way: if Viewsonic, Acer or any of the thousands of other monitor makers ships their cables with gold connectors, and the connectors on the back of their monitors are gold plated, and it costs them even 10 cents a monitor extra, if they didn't need it don't you think they'd save the millions of dollars by eliminating the gold process?
