Windows XP Professional SP3 CD and COA(Key)

I have an unused key from a system upgrades that I did for a client.

CD is OEM

CD was bought for standard price from my wholesaler with a new bought system.

CD does sell at Canada Com and a few other outlets for 164 before taxes(SALE) 190+ tax regular, but you have to buy a computer with the OEM software, so PLEASE don't crap my thread about stupid things.

Only $160 new here........win 7 pro is only $160 also.........Don't know why people are always tryin ta peddle stuff on here for more than its worth NEW.
I THANK you for your comments like im a thief trying to sell somethiong for more.

You CAN'T buy OEM unless you buy a computer with the CD,, so Add 164 before tax, + the cost of a computer.

So please do your homework first.. k thx

Why bother when you can download from various sites free
There are several reasons why not to use pirated versions,

One being businesses need legit software,

2 being because everyone dosn't want to pirate..

Also Windows XP is being pushed out of production by Microsoft. YOu can only get the software with licensing soon and the OEM CD's will burn out for us computer contractors.

Also even though Windows 7 is promising, not everyone is ready to do a full scale upgrade quite yet before the first year out of the gate.

Actually, if you buy it from Canadacomputers they will sell it to you regardless if you bought a computer or not for the listed price on the website. With that said, there are many warehouses in Markham and Missisaugua that are open to the public on certain days that sell it for a couple dollars less actually. I'm a computer engineer in the business so my "homework" is well done. If you don't believe me, feel free to pm me and I will have no problem taking you to a couple of these places to show you how high your listed price is. You seem to be a very educated guy in the field but I may have to question your retail approach. But who am I to judge. Good luck with the sale!

the hobby needs more capitalism
Some places will sell a OEM cd as long as you buy any computer part or accessory.

Tumbs up for these guys post..

As an owner of IT firm and a system builder. I've seen this for years and even went that route. So I don't know why BB is so defensive about. CC put that one their website for for legal issues, they will sell to the general public OEM versions with a purchase of a HD, CDrom etc etc. $200.00 for Windows XP SP 3 ok

Also if anyone is going to upgrade from XP or Vista to Windows 7. I strongly suggest not to do that upgrade, please backup your important data and then format your machine and then install Windows 7. I've seen many issues with people doing a straight upgrade which leads them to more headaches than usual.

Sigh,

I don't deal with Can com for wholesale prices, one day you will walk in and they will sell you OEM, some days not. Legally they are not allowed to sell OEM software without hardware components.

Regular pricing for OEM Windows SP3 is 180-190 give or take before taxes

CD rom is on sale, at some bigger box stores but try getting an OEM CD without a hardware purchase right now. just try.

Im selling the CD under retail price by a small margin, so please shut it.

As for lots of small shops selling OEM without hardware purchase, make sure you check each of your COA's you receive. I noticed allot of the shops are mixing in Fake units.

I guess I've been told. LOL

Yes sir I will Shut it. It seems you know all the answers to everything. It is funny though you come on here and try to sell something and a majority of the community are I.T. Technicians.

Bye the way the big box store as far as I know they do not carry OEM software unless it is for the tech's. Most of their full computer systems come pre installed with the OS but when you purchase the system you will never get any hard copys of the OS . Dell for instance stick the product (OEM) key on the side of their computer towers.

Anyway, Good luck with your sale.

If it is wrong for stores to sell an OEM version without hardware, then it is also wrong for billybob to sell the OEM version unless you are selling the original computer along with it. OEM windows are not transferrable, they can only be installed on that computer.

Billybob is just BSing to hide his unreasonably high price.

Belleville is right. OEM versions of Windows (XP Pro, XP Home, 7 Pro, etc) are easily and legally available for prices close to or less than Billybob's price. For example, http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2571832&Sku=M17-7507. Why buy from Billybob when one can buy from a legit retailer like Tigerdirect?

BTW, there is a way to convert XP Home to XP Pro for free without any kind of illegal download. Have a look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYufAvUlkFY.

Does anyone know where I could buy a legit Windows XP for ~$80-$90?

Another reason for having a legit version is so you can actually get updates for it because the product key will pay authentication.
