Now the NCAAB is more than half way done, it's time to weed out the mediocre teams from the crappy ones. Time to pick winners and losers.

Just to clarify this - I bet on moneylines, 8 point 3 team teasers the odd point spread and first half spreads. Up to this point I've chosen quite a few winners, it's just hard to cash out when you've got a 9 to 14 team parlay ticket.lol. So starting today -we'll keep it to three or four -and concentrate on percentages.

So starting today, it's time to get serious......

First ticket -1st half lines

Michigan plus 2 1/2
Maryland minus 4 1/2
Miami OH minus 1 1/2
This ticket will roughly pay 6:1

Second ticket - moneyline

Maryland, Kentucky and Minnesota
It pays just shy of 1:1

Third ticket - 3 team 8 point teaser

NC state plus 9
Kentucky plus 1/2
Northwestern plus 20 (I'm hoping Minnesota wins outright but NW to keep it below 20). BTW a push is a loss in this format. So if NW loses by 20 exactly - i lose.
This one pays 1.2:1

Anybody have any gems they'd care to share?

The good news is - the first and hardest ticket won at 6:1. The bad news is #1 ranked Kentucky lost on the road. I should have known better but it's hard not to bet on the number 1 team in the country.

Well tommorow is a new day.

There was a slight oversight on yesterdays picks. As a rule I never play the same team on more than one ticket. I guess I got carried away seeing Kentucky playing the Cocks yesterday. But another piece of good news -ALL the picks came last night -so 7 for 9 isn't bad. It's too bad the 2 losses were on Kentucky.

As well, the Lakers should be a lock at home tonight if anyone wants to just add them on for shits and giggles on a money line.

For today Jan 27th -here are the picks.

Ticket 1 - these is a parlay first half line ticket, paying at roughly 5.25:1

New Mexico minus 1/2
LaSalle minus 6
Tennessee minus 3

Ticket 2 -another parlay but this time straight moneylines paying at 1:2

Duke, Villanova and Ohio State

Ticket 3 -the last parlay for tonight, a 3 team sweetheart 8 point teaser paying at 1.2 : 1

Temple at plus 6
UConn at plus 3 1/2
BYU at plus 9 1/2

As always any all all comments and suggestions are welcome.

ParGolfer, Lawyerman and Basketcase -where are you guys? I might need help here.

Break even night last night.

Won Ticket 2 outright but got skuned by Temple and LaSalle.
Temple lost outright so can't do shit about that. But LaSalle won the game but lost the first half. I thought the Lobos were a ballsier pick and I got that right and Tennessee but the easiest pick dumped.

Ticket 3 at least UConn got smoke so it didn't have to be a one leg loss with Temple not covering by a deuce.

On for tonight......swing for the fences night.

Tonight no first half picks, no spreads -just moneylines.

Ticket 1 - Troy, St. Mary's, San Jose State, Gonzaga and one of my all time faves Morehead State. This 5 team parlay ticket pays roughly 1.75 to 1

Ticket 2 - Xavier, Troy and Pittsburgh. This 3 team parlay pays around 1: 0.68 ish. The payout seems lousy but in the big picture, it should be a relatively safe bet.

Ticket 3 is the big one - 8 team parlay -paying at 4.9 : 1

Georgia Tech, Xavier,Pittsburgh, Purdue, Western Kentucky, San Jose State, Davidson and Jacksonville State.

Comments gents?

11 for 12 last night. It was a home run night.

The loser was Western Kentucky....by 1......in FARKING OT!

But can't cry about it -the 3 tamer and 5 teamer were gimmes. I'm taking tonight off (Friday) but tomorrow -watch out. It will be a full schedule.

Temple -got it. West Virginai -got it. UConn FUCKED ME AGAIN! That's it, I'm done with the Huskies for the rest of the year.

After that hard assed OT loss by Texas - I decided to jump on a BYU, Zags and Louisiana Tech ticket. Go Tech.

Duquesne fell short on the over by a basket -that hurts. But Maryland lost too -so, all in all, at least it's not a one legger. Waiting on NC and Old Miss for a payout. Ticket 2 paid out already. So at least I'm in the black pending 2 more tickets.

OMFG - NC and Old Miss both tanked -ok so we're in the red for the weekend. That takes away 50% of weekly winnings. wow.

Monday looks skinny. All I can see are 3 games for first half lines. Buffalo, Ok State and Louisville.

Monday bets -1 ticket only for tonight. Paying 3:1 on a parlay.

Akron, Kent, Louisville, Iona all moneylines, and Oklahoma State plus 1 1/2 on the first half.

4 for 5 -but that's no good. You have to get them all right. I said Buffalo -why the heck did I bet Akron?

On for tonight Tuesday matchups.
Ticket 1 -all home teams on the money line paying a little under 1:2. Villanova, Syracuse and Kentucky

Ticket 2 - first half spreads parlayed paying under 6:1. Rutgers plus 2, Huskers plus 1 1/2 and Wisconsin minus 1

Ticket 3 - Cavaliers (NBA) and Drexel moneyline, Wake minus 3 1/2 , Kansas State minus 2 and Michigan State plus 1 (first half spreads) paying 8:1.

I can't win both tickets 2 and 3 at the same time. I couldn't decide which to play, either Mich St or Wisconsin, so I played both opposite each other. So, 1 ticket might lose on either one.

Good luck gents and may the betting gods be with you.

Ticket 2 -moneyline and spread combo. Paying at 5:1 Temple, Akron, Creighton, UTEP, Marquette minus 17 1/2 and Kansas minus 13.

I do not like the Indiana call. The only two good teams it has played at home anywhere close to the level of Purdue have covered the 12.5 (Kentucky and Maryland). Heck a horrible Iowa team covered that in Indiana's last game. Purdue has decent depth as well, so they shouldn't lose the size of there lead in the last then minutes.

I like the Maryland call. They are playing well as of late, Kenpom has them as a 1 point dog... so good value.

Well I may not have given the appropriate respect to a rivalry game at home. The spread was reflective of the teams current ratings, so the home rivalry factor probably gives value to Indiana.

Game is currently tied with seven minutes to go.

Indiana came in with the plus 12 1/2 but the problem with that ticket was Portland and Jksnville State -they are awful and it showed. That one was a 2 legger so I can live with that.

The problem I can't live with is Cincinnati....on the road for the half score. I though it was ND on the road - it wasn't until gametime that I saw it. Crap. I went 13 for 16 and got the 2 big tickets up top.
For tonight's picks -

Ticket 1 moneyline parlay paying 1:1 roughly -Harvard, Siena and Montana St

Ticket 2 Ist half spreads parlay paying at 6.1:1 Columbia minus 3, Siena minus 5 1/2 and Sacramento St plus 2

Ticket is a mismash of NBA moneylines - Orlando, Boston, Atlanta and Dallas plus NCAAB point spreads with Cornell -19, Canisius+10 and Weber St +6 paying at 8:1

maurice, just so you know the revenge game du jour tonight I think is Rider. If you're going to lay some down you might want to look at that one.

I just glanced at tomorrows board and I have 27 picks off the top of my head. I have to work that down to about 12 realistic ones. Dammit -too many games. I think I'll break them down by times....

IT at work has a sense of humor.lol They blocked all the betting sites. I had to wait until I got home to lay bets down -that's good, considering Villanova would have probably fucked me. Yesterday was a disaster but that gives us a chance for revenge picks in the Ivy. Too many mistakes last night.

Tonight though - 4 tickets all parlays

Ticket 1 -Ist half lines Oregon St as a pick em, Georgia plus 2 1/2 and Illinois plus 1/2 paying 6:1

Ticket 2 -moneyline paraly at 1:0.78 Butler, N.Iowa and the Vols

Ticket 3 - Harvard minus 16, Princeton and Cornell minus 23 paying at 2.5:1 and finally

Ticket 4 - moneyline paying at 1: 0.25 Morehead (*snicker)State, Murray State and Montana . Good luck gents!

So far 2009 and 2010. Nice banner btw. I took the day off today to make some SuperBowl bets. Had 2 monster tickets come -I had the Saints to win moneyline, parlayed with Brees as the MVP and the under. My second ticket was just the spread with punt return under and sacks under.

R U an NCAAB bettor big guy 13?

As for Monday Feb 8th - I didn't want to push the issue. I couldn't find any more than 2 for the first half line so I laid off. But the 1 ticket parlay moneyline for the Monday line up is -

Valpo, Kansas, Siena and the College of Charleston

This ticket is paying at 2:1

Good luck all
