I was walking home from dinner tonight humming Riders on the Storm as I had the song in my head all day. It’s one of my favorite songs, something that reminds me of my youth, coming of age, my first years on my own, all rolled up into one. It’s timeless for me, every few years it reappears and takes on a new meaning.
Today as I walked along the Doors playing the soundtrack I watched the people rush around the city, off to clubs and restaurants, running to get out of the rain. It was the perfect movie scene, all the beautiful people, strong winds, heavy rain and Riders on the Storm playing low in the background.
I’m not sure why but I decided at that moment to pack up my umbrella and continue without, it might have been the futile struggle with the strong winds or perhaps it was a pure simple enjoyment of the moment. Everyone around me struggled to stay dry as I embraced the rain and focused on each drop that touched me as I walked along. At some points my eyes would sting, a mixture of the rain and my mascara burning its way down and at other times I would feel the soft cool trail left by a single drop of rain as it worked its way past my neckline and onto the flesh underneath. Both feelings were sensual and erotic in their own way and I truly enjoyed my long walk in the rain.
I believe the world offers many opportunities to be erotic, sensual beings if we stop and enjoy what is around us. I take extreme pleasure in the little things; a mischievous glance shared over a glass of wine, a drop of water as it runs down my collarbone only to disappear in my cleavage, the jolt of adrenaline I get when I accidentally brush up against you.
If you’d like to share this view, step into the sensual world, let me know and I’ll be happy to make arrangements.
