Yes!

I personally think COD4 was the best FPS I've ever played. I will certainly get Modern Warfare 2 for my PS3.

The graphics, interface and logistics are all great. The only thing I've had against the COD series is the lack of a scenario generator. You basically go from one scenario to the next with no real opportunity to modify anything easily.

If you had the first one and like COD then for sure get it. I only got my PS3 over a month ago and both COD are the only game I have. Wasn't planning on getting 2 at first, but the good reviews from ign and friends who have just was too tempting for me.
I believe single game is shorter but with co-op and multiplayer it makes it worthwhile. Not to say the single player wasn't fun either.

What's everyone's level?

I'm just starting out so still kinda shit. Have problems killing enemies. Don't know if it's just my aim or my low level weapons need a few more bullets to kill someone.
Any pointers to help out a new player?

Hey guys,
Any of you been having online multiplayer problems?
I've notice in the last week or so, that I've been getting lots of "Lost server connection, Lost connection with Activision" and the likes. So basically I'm in the middle of a game and it kicks me out and records as a loss. WTF. Don't play much during the week but last night was barely playable.

I found some posts dating back to couple weeks ago that there was server issues due to overload. But can't' seem to find anything recent to see if that has been fixed it.
Anyone having this problem as well?

greatest FPS ever....more perks, more guns !
However there is one level on the first person story that will blow your mind out....and also leave your soul slightly empty!

Have Fun!
I still don't get the hype around that level. How is it different that GTA where you can kill prostitutes, police officers, or people randomly walking around.

In the original modern warfare you took on the role of the president of an unnamed middle eastern nation. You are dragged through the streets of your former capitol city, beaten with the stock of an AK, watch unarmed prisoners be executed and are powerless to stop it. You are then knocked out and dragged to a pole in the middle of the town square, tied to it and executed.

In another sequence the villain of the game detonates a nuclear bomb in the middle of a the aforementioned middle east city. You are playing the role of a Marine at this point who has confirmed his status as a hero by rescuing the pilot of a downed troop carrier helicopter when a nuclear bomb goes off. Your evac chopper crashes and you crawl through the destroyed city bleeding out until you are dead.

Neither of these scenes warranted this much vaunted 'you can skip this it's okay because it is pretty fucked up' option.

Finally, what about the torture scene in the game? I haven't seen that plastered all over the news.

Honestly, it's just a video game.

Behind Enemy Lines
yes

get it

you will save money on hobbying because you'll be playing all the time

There is a reason why every woman on facebook with a video-gaming significant other, posted hateful messages against IW and Modern Warfare 2 for the past 3 weeks.

GET IT! Get it now!!!
By Boxing Day, all the 15 year olds who dont have it, will finally have it, and then you will be stuck playing online and 'levelling up' to get the good stuff, against whiney snotty little brats. Notably, you can tell these '15' and under people, because every insult or comment they have either has to involve homosexuality, or your mother.

The game is addictive like no tomorrow, especially if you have a good group of a couple of guys that you play online with - makes winning easier, and the experience that much better.

As per the one other question, I'm at a level 49. I've been sniping little kids off with my tuned up Barrett, or bull-rushing them with a blinged up AUG-HBAR, and racking up kills and points ever since.

that's cod modern warfare one....I too found (find?) all these shooters to be too linear in their story line. For eg: one mission you go back in time to snipe someone. One time I got him in the middle of his chest with the .50 cal. NO way anyone could survive yet he appears later in the game missing an arm.

Its a very good game, but IMHO it isn't all that people hype it up to be. It is not a revolutionary game like the COD4:MW, and actually feels like a big patch/expansion pack more than anything. I agree with the guy who thinks the "shock value" mission actually kinda pales in comparison with the execution and especially the nuke in COD4. It makes you feel like a jerk, but it isn't anything like the horror and creepiness of the nuke aftermath.

Here's 2 pros and 2 cons vs COD4 (imo) for those who are interested.

Offline Play:

1. Personally I mostly disliked the campaign of MW2. IW seems to have taken a different direction with their writing style and shifted away from a gritty, semi-believable storyline and characters and towards ridiculous John Woo sequences and high-drama/low realism scripting. There are those who will probably vehemently disagree that this is a negative thing... to each his own.

2. The new spec-ops missions are a big + imo because they are actually kind of fun. There are a few that are mostly just annoying (and to be fair, are meant to be) but overall these little two-player missions can be quite addictive.

Online Play:

1. Bread and butter of the game and excellent just like COD4. They obviously listened to the players and eliminated several extremely annoying things (martyrdom for example) and introduced deathstreaks to help people who are sucking horribly. The progression of weapons is oddly up-ended so guns you'd expect early tend to come later for some reason, (AK47 is last?) but at least you don't get an all-powerful M16 as your first gun this time.

2. Sadly they really fucked up with a few things in the multiplayer that can be potentially game ruining. Google "akimbo 1887" and feel the seething hate... and they have taken called-in support WAY too far. The things you can call down now are just so brutally overpowered its game-ruining IMO. Things such as control of an AC130... or hovering Pave Lows and Harriers with all-seeing insta-death turrets... or a "tactical nuke" that ends the game?...

Pre-ordered and got it for $49.99 for my kids. Great game. Yes, the airport massacre is a little graphic. But hey, if you are not able to teach the kids the difference between reality and fantasy .......
I can't FP games. I get dizzy after staring at the screen for longer than 5 minutes but kids loved it. My oldest actually just got 100% on the trophies. It's a keeper fo sho!!!
