I recently had a poll about whether people trust the OLG.
Most didn't.

This is the governments way of cutting losses..they refer to the spending as the issue. They can't speak of the other real issues of problems with the gaming operations that have become well known beyond the OLG, government and auditors...because if they actually came out and told people what has happened over the last 10-12 years... they would be subject to Class Action suits that would bankrupt the government.
I was at a bar recently... I buy the odd lottery ticket so I guess I need to drink to support government coffers in more than one way.
Every so often the waitresses come around asking if anyone wants to buy-in for a full batch of some scratch tickets... (because I see these full batches regularly opened and scratched I know that there are big time scams with them amongst others) That night they were trying to get 15 people to put in $20 each to buy a pouch of 15 Canada Cash $20 tickets. I bought in. The last $20 tickets they bought($20 Quest Gold) had the exact number of stated winners and a nice amount of multi-winner $40-$50 winners(as advertised on website).
We got the 15 Canada Cash Tickets (cost $300 total) - and each $20 participant got a ticket to scratch - all tolled number of winners - 1 total prize money $20. Odds on webiste say 1:2.8 -should have 5-6 winners - not....hmmm. Every previous $20 game that has ever come out has had the prizing structure contain multi-winners. Suddenly Canada Cash comes out and has 9 games on the ticket - but you can only win once per ticket. If you remove the $20 prizes from the total prizes (what did you win - your money back -costs them nothing) the odds of winning are 1 in 8. For a $20 dollar buy in. The OLG has always had a gaming policy that makes the first games at a buy-in price look great - previous $20 games - or any other - even the first $5 games were way better that the current ones. Then with future changes they tweak and change the games to their benefit thinking that people will think that the game is as good as it always was -this goes for all games and even the casinos. The corruption is very bad.... because the amounts played goes down they figure reducing payouts will maintain their revenues... and now they have shaved so much off the payouts . It is an embarrassment and nothing is being done about the real problems.... years from now when the real truth comes out governments along the way have known more than they tell - like the OLG blaming the retailers for trust problems this is another smokescreen that the govenment is using to be able to say that they are doing something about the problem - not even close.
