I was playing 3 card and screwed up. I was playing pairs plus and ante, but was talking and did not put up the raise bet. I had a straight flush. I was paid on the pairs plus (40-1) and ante. No problem. Should I have been paid at all because I did not put up the raise bet?

Here is what Fallsview says in their rules:

"To play both, the Player bets the ANTE and PAIR PLUS spots. The Player
must then make a Play wager to continue the game. If a Play wager is
not made, the Player forfeits the Ante and Pair Plus wagers."

If the player does not make a "play wager" (raise) the dealer collects the folded cards & money and continues with play. Now the dealer did not collect my cards although he collected the folded cards from the other players.

The casino paid me. Was the dealer right in paying me? They could ask for the money backnext week if the video tape is reviewed.

Interesting. I always thought of these as 2 seperate bets. You can (in Vegas anyways) only play the Pairs Plus. Given that I would have assumed that you could "fold" your hand but still get paid on the pairs plus (I've never seen a pair folded, but who knows). If that were the case, you should have been paid on the pairs plus and lose your ante.

Given the rule you quoted, you should have lost everything :)

Unless you are talking a substancial amount, I'd doubt they'd chase you done.

They don't care about the money, but they don't want dealers paying off bad bets. I was at a casino once playing Blackjack. The dealer screwed up and hit a hard 17 and broke. They came down about an hour later and took back my winnings for that hand. I think it was $50.

You make a good case for the payment on the pairs plus. It is an independent bet and some people just bet it. And technically they could have taken my money.

I had $5 on the pairs plus and was paid $200 (40-1). They paid me on the ante 4-1 on my $5 bet. And nothing on my no bet raise.

The dealers need to take responsibility too. I had a $1 bet on the pairs plus for them so they made $41. The dealer took away all the folded hands and bets before he exposed his hand to the remaining players. He left mine out believing I was in and both of us forgetting the raise bet.

We will see.
