Isn't time someone was fired. Another Fake Win and they say the machine was not operating right. Guy gets Dinner for 4.

My questions then with the whole process of the cards and now the slot machines.........is if it is broken when people win..........then how often is it broken when we lose and do not know it?
Sellers winning at extreme rates compared to public.......then it means that a lot of the winning cards have been weened out before we even buy.

Time for HEADS to Roll or people should be warned that Gambling in Ontario the Fix is ON. It has gone on now too long without anybody being called to task.

This is an amazing story. Can you imagine how pissed the player and his wife must be. OLG looks so bad here.

It is right out of Monte Python. I can just see John Cleese explaining to them that no they did not win 42 million.

Dinner for 4. what a joke

Finally Bob, at least you asked the right question. If the max payout on the machine was 9k, how fucking mental do you have to be to say you are entitled to 43 mil?

I can't stand the OLC/OLGA/OLG. But seriously, this guy is reterded to think he's entitled to 43 mil.

BTW, every machine has a sign (albeit small) that reads "machine malfuction voids all plays and pays."

If the machine is malfunction, how about refunding to those guys who lost on that machine before it was malfunction to have a win. :p

From what I heard on the news the olg didn't post the sign on the machine that the $9000 was the maximum payout possible?

I agree with BL that the OLG should have just paid the guy the $9000 as a good public relations move.

However that dinner for four does sound mighty tempting----lol!

EVERY machine has a "Pay Table" which you can access to see the max, or a manufacturer's sign on the machine which states the maximum win.

I've never noticed the max payout when I've played machines...but then I wasn't really looking for it either.

All I know is that if the machine started making a lot of noise and flashing lights and saying I had won millions I would probably be very excited. It would be a major let down to find out it was only a dinner.

I would probably sue as well...and if you sue it might as well be for the whole amount. How could you really sue for some other amount?

But I would not be expecting to win anything like that...just a bit for the costs and the aggravation, etc. And to require some LARGER LETTERING ON THE DISCLAIMER perhaps.

You don't gamble much do you?

The Max payout listed on the machine is all they should be liable for. If I am playing a 2 cent machine and I see the Max. payout is 9K, then I am not stupid enough to think I won 40 plus million. This guy obviously doesn't get out much or his lawyer doesn't either if he truly believes this guy has a case.

OLG however is full of crooks and thieves and they will spend probably 45k getting this guy to go away. That dinner for 4 thing however is an insult. Give the guy the 9k and no one would be the wiser. You don't insult the intelligence of your customers in the casino industry, yet the OLG does it all the time because they have the arrogance of government backing.

The lottery terminal fiasco as outlined on 5th Estate, the winner up at Blue Heron that was screwed out of a second jackpot ( mind you the guy still gambles there so how dumb is HE?) and now this mess. They just keep stepping in one PR disaster after another. These guys are morons which is perfect for Dalton McGuinty. He seems to like that sort, because he never seems to do anything about them....

You have to understand that nobody working at the casino has the authority to give this guy even 9k. That decision would have to come from Corporate. There would also be legal/disclosure issues tied to any payment.
OLWhatever they call themselves these days is still a farce.

If the machine states: "machine malfuction voids all plays and pays." - then how to they identify when the machine broke and re-imburse all the people that put money into the machine whilst it was malfunctioning ie the plays that are voided need to be re-imbursed by OLG to the player not just the pays!

OLG says they did—eventually—offer ten grand, but the guy refused. I could imagine punters flying into Ontario from around the world for years to come, if they'd stood by the machine's promised payout.

That's really interesting. That never crossed my mind.I like to play the 649.So...how many times has the machine been broken when I've played?Yes,this gets me thinking.Or like Lady Kyla said, how many times has it been broken when we'd played?Maybe me or you or them could already be millionares? Now that's depressing.
