Hey there was an interesting smoking thread in the lounge, which makes me ask why does it seem like 75% of the SP's smoke... At least it seems that way with their smokers breath...

My theory is that it is because of the way they balance current costs and benefits, and future costs and benefits. Some people are ants (like in the ant and grasshopper story), they care about the future, so they have healthy habits, etc. Other people are grasshoppers, they have a good time now, and don't care about the future.
Smoking, and being a sex worker, are both things that are much more likely to be done by the grasshopper types.
Smoking - look cool now, perhaps die later.
Sex work - make lots of money now, perhaps have nothing to fall back on when you are older.
The ant girl does not smoke, she works hard and builds her career. The grasshopper girl likes to look cool, and make lots of money, she does not care what happens later.
There are obviously some SPs who save their money, and are building for the future, but in my experience, more are spending it all and living for today.
