A 45-year-old Mississauga woman is one of three women facing charges after police raided a bawdy house last night near Sheridan College in Oakville.
As a result of community concerns, Halton Regional Police initiated an investigation in June of 2008 into an Oakville residence. Through the investigation, police identified newspaper ads and internet sites that indicated the premise was being utilized for the operation of an escort service.
Police saw many men entering the apartment for visits that ranged from 10-30 minutes in duration.
The force`s Drug and Morality Bureau, along with uniformed officers, executed a search warrant last night at 1297 Marlborough Court in apartment 402.
Three people were taken into custody and police seized more than $1000 in cash as well as assorted documents related to the operation of an escort service.
Charged with keeping a common bawdy house is Tao Sun, 54, of Richmond Hill.
She is scheduled to appear in Milton court on Aug. 27.
Charged with being an inmate in a common bawdy house and obstructing a police officer is Weila Wang, 42, of Scarborough, and Yi Qun Gui, 45, of Mississauga.
Both women are scheduled to appear in Milton court on Aug. 7.
