Avoid PartyPoker. They have the worst customer service. And the biggest thing is that their site security sucks.

PokerStars and Full Tilt are the safest sites and they have excellent support, and you money is safe.

I play at Pokerstars. Partypoker GUI cannot be customized so it's kinda boring. I like Fulltilt's players and commercials but I find their GUI too cartoony.

Vay-guhss, Bay-bee!
I like FT. You can customize the room environment if you like to have it look like a regular online room. I don't like looking at the avatars, either, so I just uncheck them.

Since I'm a FT affiliate also, I might as well pimp my code, which is "palgame", for the same 120% deposit bonus.

Bet 365 is good, too, but the rake is higher. Good promos, too, especially if you like to bet sports.

since most likely people will play in the late afternoon to night time you want sites that allow american players to play with real money (pokerstars and fulltilt) within your same time zone. This is because you are more likely to get more tables available.

BTW I play at pokerstars. Way back they use to have monthly deposit bonuses but they stopped that. They don't offer as many reload deposit bonuses as I would like.

On PS I believe I saw a 2x deposit bonus last week but being one of those break even players, I didn't read further.

I wonder of you could put money in, get the bonus and then take it and the bonus back out?

the 2x deposit bonus is for first time deposits, up to $50.

yes you could. Just make sure you don't take any money at all during your qualification period. But IMO, if you are a good enough player to consistently make money from on-line play, than the deposit bonuses are not worth the effort. In the end you'll probably put the deposit, bonus and more back into your account in a few weeks. (This is from personal experiences):(

I've won the most on Partypoker, by a long shot. There are a lot of crazy (gambling) Scandanavians and Russians that play on the site, it is great. Party poker service is fine IMO. Cashing in and out your money is easy and fast and safe.

if you play micro level, then everywhere is the same
if you play 100NL and up
Fulltilt poker and pokerstar is known to be hardest sites to win.
if you play micro, pokerstar is fine, if you play higher level, and cannot make it to super nova, then you are throw away alot of free money.
FTP is good with 27% rakeback. ( don't ever signup without one)
I currently getting $800+ rakeback at FTP per month. (almost 10grand a year)
i done the math, I am not even close to make it to supernova at Pokerstar.
had i play at pokerstar i did be throw away alot of money.
even when i was at 50NL last year, I was getting 300+ rakeback per month.
NOTE: if you play 50NL or less, all this does not matter to you.
I also play at ongame
that site has bad software design
but euro players are stupid, you'll notice how soft the game is.
8x bonus plus soft game, not bad if you ask me. (currently getting 500 bonus a month)
I also play at prima
again, soft game due to majority been euro player
i deposite $500 play 50NL for 3 week. and walk away $1400 (900 winning, $500 deposite bonus)
since there are no rakeback or continuation bonus like ongame, I leave when my bonus is done and move on to another site at prima network.
I also play at crypto network
i'm getting 30% rakeback plus $200 month continuation bonus.
I have account at 4 different crypto site.
earning $800 bonus plus $1200 rakeback a month.
for americans,.....sux to be you, stick with FTP with 27% unless you can make it to supernova at pokerstar.
for non americans.... if you just stick with FTP or PS, you are throwing away alot of free money.
FTP is my main site. where i spent 2hr daily.
ongame i spent 1 hr (can't take the bad software design)
crypto i spent 1-2hr
if you need help on how to get rakeback. PM me.
edit:
FTP i play 4 table 6max or 9 table fullring cash game.
ongame, 4 table 5max.
crypto, 12 table mix 6max and fullring. (this only site i play shortstacker)

i use to play on Pacific Poker, but recenlty changed to Bowmans a.k.a Bet365.
I found that pacific poker lost alot of players therefore it'[s always hard to find a decent game going.

I play tons of online poker,

I play at a few different sites

http://www.pokerroom.com
used to play at chanspoker.com but they just closed down dont know why
and also I play at http://www.paradisepoker.com as well

I used to play at pokerstars and partypoker, but I know people that were teaming up getting 3-5 computers signing up and playing at the same tables and screwing people over. It can happen at every poker site, but I personally knew of people doing it so I left as I didn't want to be screwed by others.

PLus I play high NL tables like 25-50, 50-100 or 10-20 sometimes where pots are on average $500-$1500 so being cheated can really hurt.

These other sites are good as well

There are some other poker sites I have just registered with and have tons of players and some great action

http://www.nutspoker.com
&
http://www.paddypowerpoker.com/

Either way whatever site you play at if you are a good poker player LIVE, trust me when I tell you that ONLINE POKER is VERY VERY different and can take you by surprise.

You can't see there faces, some of these guys are on tilt and you have no idea, some have tons of money and could care less calling stupid bets, etc things that differ from real life.

So start slow, start at the lower tables understanding online poker before going into high limits.

I agree with you about on-line poker ... I came up playing live cash games and really don't get on-line poker. I don't do as well because you really are stuck playing the odds while guys who have no clue about the value of their hand do incredibly insane things ... on top of that often you get two or three other insane players doing the same thing giving a much higher percentage of a suck out.

While I have played so-called good on-line players ... I find that after a few hands I can figure out their play in live games.

I'm not a big fan of the on-line game.

bbk
you find it hard because action online is faster then live
1hr online 80 hands vs 1hr live 25 hands.
more hand, more situation, more mistake can be make by weaker players.
another reason online is harder
200NL live = 10 NL online
tough 200NL live game = 25 NL online

as for so call good online players.....i doubt any good online players will go to live game and say i'm a winning players.
not to mention after rakeback and bonus, it's not really worth to go to live game....(this is why i don't play live anymore)
you are giving too much credit to facial tells
online, there are lots tell you can pickup as well.

...
I guess it partly depends on the stakes. I don't take it as serious as korean but I have noticed a difference.

I've come to the point where I almost can't stand live games because of the slow slow pace. As a technically sound player, I do find live games much easier due to the added live tells I pick up, but there is just too much wasted time. As Korean mentioned, you can go through sooo many hands on multiple tables online. You can also easily search for weak players online, which is an added bonus.

I've come to the conclusion, somewhat the hard way, that the live game and online game are totally different animals, as some of you have stated.

That said, having a mastery of the basics goes a long way in either format. You can either play this game or you can't. Online magnifies weak play because there are simply more hands played per hour. The anonymity of online poker also encourages more donkish play, imo. Having a table of live "peers" around you, you might feel sheepish about drawing to that gutshot or re-raising with bottom pair, if you think you might have to show down the hand. You'll lose all credibility and your table image will be shot. Online, there's no such sheepishness. And even if you did feel that way, you could bolt and be at another table within seconds.

The big advantage of online, simply put, is that there is always a game. Any level of stake, any game, any format. Try to get 8 of your buddies to play PLO8. Go ahead, I defy you find 8 other Omaha players that you know personally. Or HORSE. Online, it's simple.
