sorry guys but except for some souped up graphics and a different character this game really just looks like GTA 3, I dont get the hype about these sequels of games that are just rehashed over and over, not providing anything new and well I dont consider getting a hj in a video game all that innovative.

But...but...but...but the graphics. You're not appreciating the graphics. They've really taken advantage of this gen's capabilities and made the game look good.

Spoiler alert: The gang you're working for right now, they're going to turn on you. Better watch your backs.

I rented this one a few days back hoping I was wrong about my impressions, yes the graphics are superb, as are the little things like hearing Russian rock groups I know in a video game, but after about 3 days I got bored, it basically feels like the game should be called Criminal Errand Boy, with everyone just asking them to carry out missions for ya, running around and just causing mindless destruction too is fun but the life span of that is also limited IMO

The different types of missions become predictable, but the way they are carried out is usually different and interesting. The most memorable instance for me was chasing down bikers through a subway tunnel with trains coming my way. Awesome. You also get to rob a bank, and even fly in a helicopter to chase down another 'copter with a rocket launcher. =D

I think I'm about half-way through the story... anyone here finish it yet?

I'm at about 50% finished...when I look through stats, I seem to have completed most of the missions though.

The online component will give this game almost unlimited shelf life. I've only played a handful of modes, but they are a blast to play. I've never done online gaming before, but I decided to give it a try when I had failed a mission a few times in a row. The online activities have totally slowed my progress in the real game now.

Get the book if you are looking at something close to 100% completion. The mission strands make up a certain percentage of the game but there are a million different other things you need to do to reach 100%.
