Great idea let us put all the prostitutes out on the streets. Leave the girls alone unless they come up with better places for the girls to go, like proper brothels. They will never stop prostitution, they will just put it more in the hands of organized crime. Push it underground where it will become a larger contributor to STDs. I personally think each cop involved in these things should be held responsible for his or her actions and lose their job. If they have time to do this then we have too many police. Perhaps they should turn a few and look inward at police corruption.
I have not gone to the manor in a long while. I drive the 401 to Treasures these days. It is more to my liking. I do think that if the manor has customers then it should be left to itself. Don't waste my tax money on this crap.

So here is the 411 I guess: The club was raided last night and boy there was a whole mess of them in there I thought it was free donut night or something.
The club is not shut down but several of the girls will be out of commission for a while. I think, and don't quote me on this, but the reason was that the solicitation by some of the girls had become too forward and prevalent. You would think that after the heat they caught on the liquor violation and the fatal accident nearby someone in management would have the sense to tell them to cool it but I suppose a level head is hard to come by these days.
On a more selfish note those who prefer the tease of a more R-rated stunner can still enjoy to their heart's (aka wallet's) content (that includes me )

)Its funny that a business thats been around over 20 years..with little real issues...seems to be a target ....we all know that every strip club has these issues...the managment can do only do there best to tell the girls the club rules but they cannot control...the girls once there on the floor most of these girls are from others clubs that come in and free lance and dont give a shit about the club only about themselfs. The managment can tell the girls over and over but at the end of the day its the girls that cause these problems...I have been in many clubs and have been asked if i would like something extra ..agian the Manor is not the only bar that had this problem...lets be honest boys we all know where to find it if we want it...these girls are at every club or massage parlor not just the Manor...
Also, I remember a manager/bartender named Jose that was there for ever, was fired for selling drugs among other things! Roger in the past years that I remember has fired others for simalar actions! How long ago did he fire his entire staff or most of it anyways.......Paul, Billy and rest of his clan. Those guys weren't the cleanest to say the least, and it didn't stop him from cleaning house. In all the years I have gone to strip clubs they ALL have problems and i havent seen a club that goes to greater excent!!!!
Why do you think I frequent 400 Speedvale. LE are in there every week (and other spas too I imagine) according to the girls and keep getting stymied. They just yell something in Chinese and they are all dressed in like 5 seconds and you have a towel on your ass. I believe that they are having their biggest problem with the AGC. I heard that there have been a few incidents with over serving and the AGC has been investigating. The thing with these types of bureaucracies is that once they get you in their sights they are relentless. A friend of mine that had an issue at the manor about three years ago just recently received a call from their investigations staff asking him for a statement. Shouldn't piss off your clientele

Maybe a good time for him to reno the place, hire all new girls and try for a fresh start? Thats what I would do..

Just to clarify.. but as of yet, NO charges have been laid against the owners of the club (only the girls). The liquor problems have been long standing and liquor related issues are not new in Guelph.
Yes pressure is building on the sex industry in all areas, but I personally don't think raids like this are bad at all.
Here's why this is GOOD news. Strip clubs get a bad name BECAUSE of these types of actions. If it was just a matter of girls dancing nude, no one would care. But it becomes a slippery slope of lap dances to groping to sexual acts. This type of bust may just reset the curve.
It has been discussed in the past, but many people (including myself) miss the days when strip clubs weren't about being propositioned. When you could go in and have 4-5 drinks and a couple dances without dropping 100+. If you look at the clubs that draw the best crowd it isn't because the girls are putting out more. It's because they have a good party atmosphere that makes people want to hang out there.
Another side benefit might be that this will cut some of the obscene upward pressure on SP rates. No longer will they say that they are just trying to make the same as the Manor girls! haha
