I'm gonna be in Barrie next week and was just wondering if you guy's have any recommedations for Cash friendly rooms .... I'm trying not to leave a CC trail...lol
I'm staying with friends but would like a place I can escape to a cuple times during the week seeing as the incall situation is pretty dry.

After talking to Sloane it seems that I may have to sample a couple of nitecandy girls because she's not going to be around:(

Just to put my two sence in.......(I used to live there)

Vicky is very right. Those three hotels are the cheapest in Barrie.

But be WARNED!!!!!!!

If you're not dealing with crack heads, you'll be seeing the cops there. Or you're just afraid to take your shoes off when you walk in the door.

People that live in Barrie call the "White Towers" the "White Stain". If you're looking for a decent place I'd go to Hart drive just off the Dunlop exit.

There's a whole bunch of hotels on that strip, all of which you can get a room for about $100 a night (maybe a tad more). You'll only pay $60 a night at any of the other three.

I'm telling you.........Spend the extra $40.

You'll thank me in the morning :)

I hear what you're saying swamp; And they are definately worth the extra money, but all of them require CC, and will leave a trail. If you're going to book for cash in Barrie go with the Simcoe. NO trail, by far the least seedy of the three, located on the edge of town, and most importantly, they know who butters their bread.

i have stayed at many of those s*** holes and yah niteman is totally correct the lake simcoe is definately by far the cleanest but still a hole. About a year ago i stayed at the howard johnson the one on dunlop street beside kings buffet i believe it was and no need for a cc then however dont know if times have changed. Not the greatest but hell atleast i got the feeling they change the sheets at that one. Good luck

In a very dark place
The Ho Jos is the old Brookdale isn't it.

Was a dump back before Confederation when I lived in Barrie.

Wow I didn't think I would generate this much discussion on hotels...lol
I can assure you that i have no intention on spending the night in a roach infested joint and 100.00 is reasonable. If I have to leave a trail...O'Well

Sloane I'ts funny cause I'll be staying just off Dunlop W and the idea of a "getaway" would be great!

Once you consider the price of seeing an SP and the price of getting a room, it can be pretty costly, especially for those who do it a lot. I think the lower level hotels/motels get half their business from our industry.
hell ya i guess they would eh. Especially when you only need it for the hour or so. And the ladies didnt seem to mind really im sure they prefer the nicer end of things though but the girls i got never complained. Gotta love the sp's eh lol

Credit cards.

Here's the deal. You only need a credit card to book the room. What they do is check to see if there is available credit to charge the room in the event you don't check out. Any good hotel will ask you at checkout..."are you leaving this on your credit card?" You can then say no. I'll pay cash.

They just remove the prior authorization and nothing appears on your card.

Don't be cheap! Get a nice room! lol

Spend a few more bucks, get a prepaid card....

Or do what I do.... Volunteer for over the weekend work in the Barrie branch office then room and meals will be paid for by my employer.

I stay at either the Holiday Inn or the Signature Suite. :)

There is also the Comfort Inn on Hart Dr. But the Howard Johnson is cheap and not quit as bad as some. I can't believe some of the nasty stuff you find at some of the "cheaper" motels. At least if you pay a little extra, there is less chance of you catching something off the sheets or toilet seat!

Hey,
I just thought I would stick my two cents in. The Lake Simcoe is the best of the trashy places 30$ for two hrs, however I prefer it when my clients go to the comfort or travel lodge. The price for the afternoon is about the same the difference is you tell the front desk you are a buisness man from out of town, and you just need to shower. and have a quick rest. That way you get the afternnoon rate as well you get to have fun with a little more class:D
