For lack of a better description I'm thinking it might be time to pick up a new ps2.... why? Well I have the old ps2 and have been using it for years now and I'm thinking of replacing it and giving the old one to a friend.

But the question that I have is if the fan on the newer machine is quieter than the fan on the older machine.

I bought a slim one awhile ago and find the fan noise hardly noticeable.

I have had the slim one for over a year now, like the above poster said you can hardly hear the fan on it unless you are really close

I never buy 1st gen consoles, just wait for the price drops and defects to haul back. The PS2 slim is nice, quiet, and economize on space.

Probably some girl with a nice rack ... sigh can't compete with that.

By the way if the laser/ tray on the ps2 is faulty or misaligned, what does it cost to adjust it? I came across one and the guy was selling it for $15 , as is. But I didn't go for it..

Good question. I'm not sure but I think EB games might offer to fix it. You might want to try inquiring with them. But if I'm wrong please excuse the confused look the clerk might have.

And yes the ps2 is going to a girl with a nice rack. Second choice is a dude. Viva you can be #3.
