Will the Wii beat the PS3 and the XBOX 360

Like I like the Wii, Its "cheap", innovative, good game play etc...
Only problem is that there marketing sucks. Iv neva seen a Wii ad, posters, billboards, tv/ radio commercial. Lots of ppl dont even know its coming.

On the other hand the PS3 has a huge buzz. Them ads are everywere. Hype is good.

Same shit for XBOX 360 and they got a headstart ova da competition.

Personally I dont think Nintendo will win, but they will get back a huge market share. I think it will be like PS3 50% Wii 30% XBOX3 60 20%
Whats is yall opinion???

Sony has built an almost cult like hardcore following since its PS 1 days who will run out and buy the PS 3, myself included in that group. From industry experts the Wii is nothing more than a souped up Gamecube, innovative with its funky new controls yes but hardly next gen quality of its competitors, Microsoft really has dropped the ball on this one, rushing out games of questionable quality and not utilizing even a fraction of its powerful machines arent really helping its case.

When I went to get my pre order for the Wii, I got the last one. There were 8 PS3 still available.

Also Blue Ray! I don't buy a console to watch high def movies. Although it is a nice feature, I'm sure there are a ton of people who would put cash down if it wasn't so expensive because of the blue ray.

Wii has the virtual console. Say hello to games of past from NES to SNES to N64 to even Turbo Graphix. That's what really sold me on the Wii.

Nintendo has always had high quality games. I have all 3 current gen systems, but only really play the game cube. I'm not so much in to fraging other halo players, but me and my buddies love going for a spin on Mario Kart tracks.

Nintendo is going to clean up this christmas season and there will still be PS3 units on shelves after boxing day.

I love the xbox over the ps2 but the 360 missed the mark. I despise sony but will probably be getting a ps3. Blu-ray is the big selling feature for me. It's an all-in-one HD game and movie player plus much more. It's actually a very good price for what you get. A stand alone blu-ray player is over a grand.

The 360 is supposed ot be the next gen. HD console but doesn't even have a HD drive. No HDMI outputs. They will have an add on HD drive but it will only do movies. What happens when games excede 9GB.

Blue Ray VS HD DVD is VHS VS BETA all over again. You're banking on the fact that Blue Ray will become the standard. I wouldn't be hopping on any of those band wagons just yet.

Blue Ray has a shortage of diodes. If they can't get thier product to the market quickly and cheaply HD DVD will pass them by.

That's why I'm waiting as long as I can. I'm just saying I like the all in one system. If the 360 shipped with an internal HD drive for both movies and games I probably would have jumped on the bandwagon early.

Is it worth waiting in line the day before the PS3 comes out to get one or should I try and pre order one???

2 Million units are to be shipped for release. Most of these are spoken for by preorder. An addtional 7 Million units are to be shipped between the release date and christmas. I imagine finding one won't be hard to do.

I think i'm going for the wii as it is relatively cheap and has a ton of games coming out at launch. Add to the fact that i can prolly pick one up right after launch date. PS3 (for the record is potentialy the best system out there and i will get one eventualy) is only shipping 400,000 units on launch day and a small amount of games; do i have to mention that it will also cost close to $800 adding in the tax? A little too much for my blood.

I also like the fact of a brand new controller. Your now just playing the game, you're in it. Doing the motions like you should. I'd love to play Call of Duty 3 on the wii. I can sacrifice graphics if the game play is smooth and the game is great. Hate playing FPS on a console with a game pad. Not precise. I can see nintendo's new controller to be the wave of the future.

Tired now...must sleep.

I am a long time video gamer started out with Nintendo, graduated to the Playstation both of them, but now I am seriously considering returning to the Nintendo camp, I am not a serious video gamer as I use to be, work, sports, movies, escorts and mpa's are how I am spending my leisure time. The 600 dollar PS3 price, a shaky dvd format that may or may not prevail are the reasons. Sure the PS3 is way more powerful, but the innovation of that Wii controller is gonna be a ton of fun to use, now the big issue is finding one in the next little while

I am really looking forward to the Wii. I'm definitely going to get one. I think the new style of gameplay will be amazing and the launch titles are great. I think that the PS3 is overpriced regardless of all it's hi-tech stuff and I also think that the X-box 360 came out too early and the titles are pretty bad. Even though the Wii doesn't have the great technology or power that Microsoft and Sony do, the Wii has the best launch of the consoles. I think it will be the best console of the 3.

However...............

I know that nintendo probably knows what they're doing, but I've never actually considered until now what would happen if the new style of gameplay doesn't live up to what Nintendo claims it to be.

I agree shack about the Nintendo not living up to what it claims to be. I remember this hand-held 3-d system Nintendo came out with after the launch of the the 1st Game Boy (anyone else remember this?). Can't remember what it was called, I think Super Game Boy. That didn't last long. I actually tried one out at a game store at Woodbine years ago. It wasn't too bad.
