Is there a way to fix problems with burnt dvds?

Once in a blue moon when I copy a movie it will "stall" or "skip" and occasionally this leads to my ps2 to say that it is unable to read the disk. If this happens I use the chapter forward button and skip past it.

My guess is that there isn't a way to fix it other than to get an original and copy it again but I figured I'd throw this out there for the tech gurus to mull over.

You can only 'fix' it by reburning the disc. However, exctract the 'broken' DVD with DVD Fab Decrypter (get the freeware version, just Google it), then copy the content of the entire VIDEO_TS folder to another disc (choose to create "DVD Movie" and put all those content into the destination's "VIDEO_TS" folder too) then burn the DVD.

In most cases, it will help. If it still doesn't help, nothing will.

Thanks MC,

I was wondering if that would help as in some cases I no longer have the original.

1/. Install the upgrade for Fab Decrypter.
2/. Make sure the DVD disk is clean and free of scratches.
3/. Use a grade 'A'/brand name media. The cheap media used at places like pacific mall is a low grade disk and it may not play in your Ps2. I know a guy who has the same problem when he plays these DVD movies in his xbox, reglar DVD's work fine.
4/. Maybe the original Clone master you had to copy from was defective.
5/. Can you play regular DVD's in your PS2?
6/. There is a chance your laser in your DVD burner and/or your PS2 is the problem. # 1-4 are more likely.

DO NOT touch the laser, if you do it will not be in alignment and you will have more problems reading DVD's than before.

Anywhere there's a Strip Joint
Why would someone still be playing a DVD movie in a PS2? With the price of DVD players today($30-$50), why not buy a real machine and maybe they'll play properly....
