I got my MacBook Pro today...... migrated my account from another computer installed Windows XP in its own partition for dual boot and installed a Virtual Machine to boot linux and Windows install in real time from my OSX partition... OMG XP in real time inside a Virtual machine was cool for half an hour then i realized big deal now i can run some games that don't get ported..... I had the whole system with XP OSX and XP Redhat and Suse all installed and running in Virtual machines in 2 and a half hours.... the speed on the xp boot partition was fast compared to another dual boot xp PC..... what can i say i feel dirty now........

Why would you run Windows or Linux on a VM? They MacBookPro can run them both natively.

I know a few people who are running XP on their Intel Macs as they require special software that's only available for Windows.

So i do not have to reboot..... that is the only reason and within the VM it runs at native speeds.... in VM playing Doom3 i was getting 31.2 fps.... not bad for vm ware.
I for one would rather not reboot to run Windows. Why would you want to reboot your laptop if u did not need to.

Yeah that's not too bad. Everyone I know just reboots to run Windows though. The next issue of OS X (Leopard) is supposed to included virtualization thus allowing a real time switches between OS's. Supposedly the Core Duo chips can support virtualization but just have it turned off.

Leopard is going to include Boot Camp as a final feature (opposed to the beta stage its currently in). Rebooting to go to Windows will still be required.
