Windows XP using Quicktime Viewer

In the laboratory.
While perusing some porn sites with Quicktime Pro on my computer, I've found that the videos will only play on Quicktime and only on a small portion of the screen. If I don't have Quicktime on my machine, they'll play on the Windows Media Player and can be viewed on a full screen setting.

It doesn't seem to matter if Windows Media Player is the default player or not. If Quicktime is available on the computer, that's what the site will use.

Is there any way around this besides uninstalling Quicktime?

you need to identify the file type and change the default setting to open with your program choice

in this case open windows media player/tools/options/file types

Also: try going to the QuickTime control panel and click on the "Browser" tab, then click on "MIME settings". This will let you choose what media types the QT plugin should handle. Try unchecking "MPEG".

Yes, I did that and that seems to be the solution. Thanks!

Where would the Quicktime control panel be?

Wow, you've pulled up quite an old thread. I think you just click on "edit" and then "preferences" and then "quicktime preferences". That may give you what you want.

Um, I'm not really sure what you're asking here. However, in case I wasn't clear, it's "edit" in the quicktime programme that I was referring to.
