guys - i know this topic has been addressed before but..

I am currently with bell sympatico (non-contract) for dsl high speed internet, not ultra high speed (an additional 10 bucks a month more) for like 30+ a month.

I am wondering if I'm connected with the best company right now. There are so many other companies out there; like Verizon, Virgin Mobile, etc.

Problem is, I have a cellphone that I want to hook up, along with paying for the internet, all included in the same monthly package...

and my cellphone is a CDMA type phone, so I have to find a company that services CDMA type phones, not GSM networks.

So, I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions - cause I'm wondering if Belly Sympatico is the best company to go with, in this situation...

CDMA - Bell or Telus

Bell is the lesser of two evils

Virgin Mobile is also CDMA, using the Bell network

It depends on the part of Canada. Many parts of Canada which are on the border only have an american signal. IEL Jordan River, BC... there was some good waves there on sunday... good day for surfing

you would have to go to the usa to subscribe to the service as it is not sold here.

Get off your ass and see which plans are avaialble for yourself. Plans changes all the time. You were told which carriers use CDMA in Canada.

I am with Bell & have been for 10 years, there is no point in me telling which plan I recently signed up on, because it is a corporate plan & much better than anything that will be available to you.

start to do your own homework! listen to papi

Guy,
You will not be able to use your CDMA phone with any other carrier. I am with Telus which also uses CDMA but they will not let you use Bell CDMA phones.

Why don't you go to a Rogers Centre and let them tell you what the best offer they can give you and then do the same for Bell and Telus. Depending on what services are provided at you home and which specials are running at that particular month will determine which plan is best suited for you.

"Pay as you go"

Just wondering if anyone could help me with any information regarding "pay as you go" cellphone service in Canada. I have company issued cellphone, but they have a policy of misuse and using it for hobbying could be grounds for termination of employment. Therefore I do not use it while in Canada. I have to rely on pay phones for incall or the hotel phones. So far it has worked out ok, but it limits my options. I know I can buy another phone for my personal use, but who wants to carry 2 phones around?

Question: If I purchased a "pay as you go" phone in the USA, can I purchase "pay as you go" cards in Toronto or Canada that will work on this same phone? I would appreciate any help in this area or suggestion of other options.

Thanks...
