General Discussion on white hat black hat SEO etc

It just occured to me this might be a good place to exchange some tricks of the trade, that we would not necessarily do elsewhere, such as tecky forums where all your competators are looking. Probably a small group here that has nothing much to fear from each other's magic.

Here's a couple of questions. I've been in the IT zone for years, but on the service side and not on the etailer side. Recently I have launched a bunch of sites that are in beta mode. I am on the SEO learning curve.

Currently we are working a very narrow band of kewords, only about three groups. We are experiencing conversions to signup that seems quite high...like well over 15%. Do you feel this is that extaordinary? Note: the organic traffic here is highly trageted. We have what they are looking for. The unique volume is also not that high.

Secondly, we are dominating the three key word groups in a very competative marketplace. One trick seems to be, refresh site maps about once every two weeks...anybody else want to share?

We are also finding that Yahoo traffic converts about 5 times better than Google. MSN is our leader for organic supply.

Sandbox

This might be of some value to newbies launching...because google changes their tactics regularly. It recently took us 4 months almost to the day, to come out of the sandbox. When we did, we matched Yahoo almost instantly.
