XBOX 360. Is it worth it?

Right now, I'm waiting for the PS3 to come out. Overall, the Playstation has games I'm more interested in than the XBOX, and it will likely hold true for the next generation consoles. Though I will admit, the 360 looks amazing, I can't help but wonder if it is worth it. Of the games I've seen, the only ones I'd have any interest in is Call of Duty 2(Which I have for the PC), Condemned, and Oblivion(Which is available for the PC). My interest in games is broad, but I especially enjoy the SOCOM series, which is only available for the PS2. I'll assume if another SOCOM game is released, it'll be for the PS3. Too sum this post up, is the XBOX 360 worth buying now, should I wait for the PS3, or should I wait for the 360 to lower in price and potentially get both? Option 3, getting both, is unlikely.

No XBOX 360 is not worth it. I'd go for option 4; getting one thats a bit hot. The XBOX 360 camp severly handicapped themselves by not having Blueray or HD-DvD capability. As well its too early to say but i hope they learn frome their previous mistake of having a limited/mediocre line up in their game library. IMHO i think XBOX 360 came out too early, should have waited.

XBOX 360 rocks. I got mine the day it came out and I love it. Madden is cool, Need for speed is awesome, Call of duty is pretty decent, NHL 2K6 rocks, and Ghost Recon is simply the best game I have ever played, Period. Waiting for PS3 is insane since they keep pushing back the release date.

Simply put Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter is the best war game for any consol, or PC to date. If you wait you are really missing out.

Luckily for me I won an XBox 360 via the Pepsi/Doritos contest. Ultimately it depends on how much you play the consoles. I dont play it that much because games are $10 a pop now to rent, so that can get pricey. When I do play it, its XBox live 90% of the time...depends on what you like and if you're willing to dish out some good coin for it. And yes Ghost Recon is very good, especially on XBox live, I never experienced lag, did all the time with Call of Duty though...

The 360 in my humble opinion will have more and better games developed for it sooner then the PS3. The PS3 developer kit is convoluted at best and way too many changes during mid development in both the APIs and how the SDK is developed...... XBox is easy to develop for and very easy to use to the max potential..... in the long run the PS3 will rock or has a better potential but the coding side of things in game developers will not be realized for at least 1.5 years after the PS3s release.

One of the reasons they pushed back the date for the PS3 is because they want to compete with Halo 3 which looks like it will kick ass.

I would totally hold off and see what the PS3 has to offer, and ya figure Sony has had two awesome systems back to back to give their hard core followers, whose to say they cant pull off a hat trick? and as for Madden being awesome on 360, are you kidding me, EA rushed that game out so fast, they didnt include one of the most basic rules of NFL football, the ability to challenge plays, whats next hockey without penalties or basketball without free throws, really lame move EA.

Xbox will have an external HD-Dvd soon. has been confirmed by Microsoft who are backing HD-Dvd.

option 3.
Unless you're a hardcore gaming dweeb and absolutely must have the hottest/newest thing on the market, immediately.
If you bought the PSP within the first 2 weeks when it came out, you must be really kicking yourself in the nuts right now. Considering the price drop and the fact that you hardly use it as much as you'd like.

i heard the 360 is dropping $100 after january 1. anyone else heard that???
I heard this a few months ago but I don't really see a change in price. If anything I'm noticing you are get more free stuff like games or a remote control with the premium version. Should just get one, get it modified so you can play burned games.

GEARS OF WAR..... and the external HD Drive.
I have a PS3 and a Wii also..... if u want one get the Wii.
I will not be buying many PS3 games until they are being developed properly. Still a good 6 months away before games using the PS3 full functionality.
