programmer

I have 2 servers, one of which hosts my own website but it has to be connected (programmed) to look and find the other server. Originally was setup with a program called Tomcat. Don't know if that makes sense and the best solution would be to PM me your number and I will call you.

Can you post more details? If it's simple I can discreetly try to ask a few guys at work. (I can't exactly say "Hey I was on TERB and bemar was asking ...") Tomcat is a web platform that still in use these days so your issue doesn't sound like it's particuarly OS related.

Thanx for your questions. The reality is that I am not a computer expert. I need someone who wants to come out to my office in Mississauga, take a look at my setup and get everything up and running. If interested PM me your number

Really Retired.....REALLY!
I don't think you need a programmer, it sounds to me like you needs someone more on the networking side of things (although some programmers may be able to do the work you require).

I don't know for sure whether it is a programmer I need and I ammjust going with what was recommended to me. What I want is somebody to solve the problems. What they call themselves is irrelevant.

Sasha is right. Programmers don't do that (not their specialty). You need a Windows network administrator.

U have two 2000 windows server hosting your website with Tomcat hosting your java apps from the sounds of it.
I don't do Windows....
You will need someone that can admin and write java most likely. Any Network or System admin worth their pay can program a bit.

Thanx Canuckhead. You are probably right. The question is who is out there and qualified and what to do it.

PM me... what you need is a network administrator to solve the promlem. He can do it remotely actually. It's quite likely, you can/should be serving both applications from the same server. The web site will run faster for one thing, not having to call/open a remote db.
