Believe MS announced XP will be supported untill 2014 because of resistance to Vista.toughb said:I didn't know that XP isn't supported anymore.
And by 2014 they'll have the new O/S to replace Vista.WoodPeckr said:Believe MS announced XP will be supported untill 2014 because of resistance to Vista.
I wouldn't be so sure about that. They had started planning for Vista before XP was released, and XP was (officially) released October 25, 2001 - six years ago. I'm not aware of any plans for a new O/S to replace Vista (they're still far too busy addressing the problems with Vista), and 2014 is only six years away.Horney_Senior said:And by 2014 they'll have the new O/S to replace Vista.
I want to say it was Gartner that said Vista would be the last MS operating system of its type. The future is modular and updatable, apparently.Anynym said:I wouldn't be so sure about that. HP Support lied to you! Do you know how many companies are using XP and 2000 as there desktop OS. I know we have nearly 10,000 desktops and only a very small number of them are VISTA. As we recycle these desktops, we'll move to VISTA, but this will take about 3 years....Bass8lbs said:HP would not give me an OEM of XP for my HPDV9000 Laptop that came with Vista.
