I use Vonage, I have had instances where calls from my Vonage to a cell # were of poor quality and I had difficulty hearing the other party. But this happened only once or twice. From what I understand the quality of Vonage calls depends to some extent on your ISP, more specifically the amount of bandwidth resources the ISP allocates to VOip. So you will find everyone has a slightly different experience with VOip depending on their ISP's policies. Overall, considering the savings ( and the fact I hate Bell) I would highly recommend Vonage despite some minor inconveniences (eg: 911 calls get routed via Vonage, some 800 calls will not work on Vonage ).
