I spent some of last summer at a campground where the past time of choice was launching yourself off ledges some 60'-100' from the water down below. Although extremely dangerous watching the events as people propelled themselves into the air and then exploded into the water and to come bobbing back up with a shear look of accomplishment was compelling, I must try this.
I started my ascent of the cliff passing the 60' ledge to go to the 80' foot ledge as not to be out done by any of my peers. As I climbed my heart was pounding as if had just completed the 100 yard dash. As I got to my perch my gut was in my throat. "What am I doing" but I can't turn back Pride is now in charge. After surveying the landscape I felt my body being launch in the air. For one brief moment I was free and flying or as in Toy Story falling gracefully. There was joy, peace then a crash of refreshment as I hit the water. Again a place of calm as I plunged deeper into the water. When I re-surfaced that sense of pure joy I had done something I don't think I could. I was pumped ready to go higher and farther.
What does this have to do with Aloha you might ask?
After not visiting for sometime I arrived at a familiar place and as I made my way to hep place I felt my heart pounding with anticipation as I had climbing to my perch. As we met and the passion was instant I lept and felt free as the air had teased my body from leaping off the rock. Time stood still as we soared and that explosion of passion and refreshment as the waters had engulfed us both. the feeling of exhilaration and wanting to go higher and farther.
Cliff diving with Shauna gives you the rush of doing an extreme sport. Worth the climb.
