ronmexico said:for Rogers subscribers, is there a way to get rid of the Rogers link to yahoo? ie. where it sends you to the Rogers yahoo page instead of the regular Yahoo page. This also screws up MY Yahoo page, taking you to a canadian version.
it's not the homepage that is the problem. Whenever you go to your "My Yahoo" or "Yahoo Mail" page, it redirects you to the Rogers/Canada version.Preferred said:

My homepage is not Yahoo.com and I have bookmarked my.yahoo.com but it automatically shows me a Rogers Yahoo header at the top of the top and I think mail.yahoo.com also goes to the Rogers/Yahoo canadian version.peteeey said:I've set my homepage to http://www.google.ca/ and then I bookmarked http://login.yahoo.com/config/mail?.intl=ca .. when I sign in I log on to check mail, I get none of that Rogers nonsense.
tried it but it doesn't let me change the country. It takes me to a Rogers Yahoo page. I noticed it also recognizes my IP address.asn said:change your location to united states for country in "my Account" and it should work
That's the ticket. Was trying to figure out what he did.markvee said:I used my recovery DVD, and when prompted during the recovery process, declined to insert the Rogers Internet installation CD. I am still able to access the Internet, but I am not directed to any Rogers web pages.
peteeey said:Do you have the Rogers Internet Browser? That may be the problem. Here's something from the Rogers support page. If that doesn't help, I suggest you go to www.rbua.org .. It has a section specifically for people who have problems with Rogers.

Open Internet Explorer , go to Tools, Internet Options, select Connections tab, then LAN Settings. and remove tick from Proxy server settings if present.
thewheelman said:A proxy server caches the most popular web pages that users of an ISP access.
When you instruct your browser to use a proxy server, it will first search the proxy server for the web pages you request. If another user recently requested the same page, it may be stored on the proxy server, and your request will then be served by the proxy server, instead of having to go to the actual site.
The idea is to speed up the service by not having to go all the way back to the server (company) hosting the web page every time someone hits it. A proxy server can also be used to redirect requests to web sites.
Duplicating your problem shows the www.yahoo.com page picking up my login "xxxxx@rogers.com" from a cookie. Delete the cookies and My Yahoo now takes me to a generic login page. But if you login with your Rogers account you will be directed back to the rogers.yahoo.com site. I cannot confirm if this happens when not using the Rogers network. But, you could create a new Yahoo account and use that account instead.
