I've loaded lots of my cd's onto my new iPod. it's getting full (30 "Gig" because I'ved used mp3 320bps instead of the apple system). How do I delete songs from my iPod without deleting them from my iTunes library? I thought that by "un-checking" them, I could accomplish this, but it seems like this didn't work for me...Help!

while playing the song, you wish to delete, hold the Ipod under water for 3 seconds.

Ok I don't have a clue about them:eek:

Imediately when you hook up the ipod, you have to turn off the auto-update feature. Sorry though, not exactly sure how to do this :(
I would try googling it, or the apple.ca forums - I've learned alot from there.

Try this

1. Definitely you'll have to figure out how to turn off auto-update, I think it's in the iPod tab in iTunes.

2. With the iPod connected, double click on the "My iPod" icon on the left side of iTunes (under "Library"/"Playlists" etc...), and the infor on your iPod comes up as a new window. Go to the songs you want to delete, and press -- you guessed it-- delete.

Another Plane Of Existence
Open iTunes without the iPod connected, then in the config menu, you can disable auto-update on anything (music, movies, podcasts, etc.) and also disable the "Open iTunes when iPod is connected" that way iTunes won't automatically start when you plug in your iPod.

So after all that, close iTunes, plug in your iPod, Windows should auto-detect the device and a window/directory will open up, you can then manually explore the iPod as if it was another directory or drive on your computer. Usually it'll be labelled as "Removable Drive EFGH" in My Computer. Look for the files and there you go, pick and choose.

It's simple....

In iTunes, open the settings and go to iPod tab. Select the "Only update checked songs" and then OK. Then uncheck the songs you want to remove from the iPod. They will stay in the library but not on the iPod.
