I can't decide between DELL & MDG....

I disagree with that, the outsourced dude in India stayed on the phone for a full hour helping me with my PC.MarkII said:Dells after care is not good. A lot of the info they give out over the phone is simply not correct let alone helpful.

I once tried to fix my daughters Dell PC, which has no sound when playing cd's. I was on the phone with a guy in india (not the same one twice) for more than two hours every night (from 12 to 2 AM ) for 3 weeks. We installed drivers and OS about 100 times, they sent me two replacements sound cards and a replacement motherboard. After 3 weeks I gave up, principles are one thing, but there are limits. We never got it to work.Esco! said:I disagree with that, the outsourced dude in India stayed on the phone for a full hour helping me with my PC.
Yeah fair enough but do you really think you'll get better service from some rinky dink store???danmand said:I once tried to fix my daughters Dell PC, which has no sound when playing cd's. I tried to talk to marjketing to get some help, but they would not talk to me. And tech support offered me to send me another replacement motherboard, another replacement sound card etc etc.
and get AMD as good as the heavily advertised Intel, but it's more word of mouth and does the same, if not better job.papasmerf said:BUILD ONE

I did not suggest a rinky dink store, but now that you ask, I don't think the support could be any worse than what I received.Esco! said:Yeah fair enough but do you really think you'll get better service from some rinky dink store???
I somehow doubt it, but I could be wrong
That bad eh, wow that suxdanmand said:I did not suggest a rinky dink store, but now that you ask, I don't think the support could be any worse than what I received.
I don't know if that is a good comparison. A PC has only a dozen or so components, so it should not be that difficult.Esco! said:I think PC's are the same as cars, you either get lucky or you get a lemon in which case you're f__ed.
