Does anybody here have a PC with Windows Media Center? If so how is it different from a PC with regular Windows?

Also can you buy the program for Windows Media Center and put it on your PC in place of or have it work with your normal windows?

So If it doesnt come with the PC you cant get it? That kinda sucks.
That is correct sir!

I was kinda ticked myself when it came out and I couldn't buy it; my machine has all the bells and whistles that are required to run with it.

Either way you can do all the same shit with xp, it's not as convienient or pretty.

If you look on www.microsoft.com it should give you a breakdown of all it's features that you were inquiring about earlier.

Cheers!

But I imagine when you buy a tablet pc, they give you the install cd.
Or is it already preloaded on the system? If so, what happens if you have to reformat or something? Do you just get a recovery cd like most pc's/laptops nowadays?

We are starting to test Dell Table PCs at work. They all come with recovery cd's.

We also use Symantec Ghost to make images of the pc after we have installed all of our own software. I use Ghost to make regular backups of my PCs at home. The images work great, all I have to do is to restore the last image I made. Hardly loose any data and I do not have to rebuild and reinstall all my apps. Restoring takes about 30 - 45 minutes based on the speed of your PC and HD.
