I started using vonage and I save so much $$$ now.
Call display, call waiting, threeway, voicemail, etc. all included
all my calls are free within the province +500 min/month anywhere in Canada or U.S. for like $35 + tax. Better than 100+ a month from freaking bell!

I don't know if it can be used for a fax...I dont' see why not.

I've been using Sun Rocket (a US carrier) for VOIP. The voice service is fine. Faxing has been very problematic. I can fax out but not receive. Their service might be better in that regard - but I would check it out first.

Sun Rocket if I am not mistaken allows you a second roll-over number with any area code you would like. Making it cost effective for family and or friends in another location to call you without a toll.

Actually Vonage is not cheap, considering they have many hidden fees, i.e., pay extra for fax line and added features.. they also require deposit etc...

try
PC-Telephone,
http://www.pc-telephone.com/

excellent for faxing and it is "pay as you go" that never expires . .. its software also installs a dedicated fax driver that can be selected like a printer so you can fax directly from any word processing software i.e., MS word to send directly to any FAX#

For VOIP Vbuzzer has excellent quality service, it offers what Vonage offers at cheaper rate with no conditions . . . better yet it is also a Canadian company

The problem is most probably with your ISP, not Vonage. Your ISP may be restricting the bandwidth allocated to VOip on your internet account.

Not correct..Vonage bill your cc, no deposit required. Features such
as voicemail, call waiting, fax line etc are included in the price. See:
http://www.vonage.ca/products_premium_sb.php
you are talking about $70 plan / Small Business Unlimited Plan
when we are talking about the Vonage basic plans @ $20 or even $40 plans VS. $7.99 of Vbuzzer
you can not compare apples with oranges . . .
read the terms & small prints i.e. . .
-One-time charges upon startup: $19.99 shipping fee; $39.99 activation fee (plus applicable taxes).
-Disconnect fee of $49.99 (plus applicable taxes) may apply
-Fax Service:Customers can get a dedicated fax line for only $12.99 per month.
extra this, extra that . . . .

The Buzzer price is evidently a promotional price. In time all rates for VOip will average out. Buzzer cannot maintain those prices in the long - run and operate a profitable enterprise. The costs of maintaining the VoiP networks are quite high.
Ofcourse a fax line is normally required for business, so I gave you the small business link.

Vonage

I use Vonage at home and, as stated earlier, sure saves a shitload compared to bell AND OH the customer service is about 100x better!

Also for computer to computer I use skype - great for the office environment or when traveling.

PC-Telephone

Guys this VOIP is one of the best I have used for many years, as far as using calling cards types.

----------------------------------
Calling rates to many major destinations reduced, mobiles included!

Now you can talk longer, for less!

Call Canada for 1.7 cents/min. Call Denmark, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Ireland, Spain, Singapore, Hong Kong, UK, USA and China for only 1.9 cents/min. Click here to see all rates.

No monthly fees, no connection fees, no hidden charges and no expiration of your calling account!
We are looking forward to continuing to provide you with great products at a great price.

Best Regards,

Your PC-Telephone Team
