Hummmm

I'm not sure I can pick just three "Games" having been playing since 1980 but I will say the following.

1) The Ultima series from Lord British (apple Ultima I & II, III-VIII PC)
2) Diablo series (I and Expansion, II and expansion & community mods - PC)
3) NeverWinter Nights (game plus 2 expansions, 3 for sale online modules and countless thousands of community modules - PC)
4) Civilization (I, II, III, and the best IV - PC)
5) Flight Simulator (pre Microsoft, and the last 4 Microsoft versions - PC)
6) Steel Panthers (I, II, III, free version (8.x) and now MBT- free version)

I could go on and on but to be still playing computer games 25 years later says something about me and the Industry. I do have a Nintendo GameBoy, both a PS2 and a PSP, and have had a Sega dreamcast, an Atari system, Commodore 64, Apple 64, Apple Mac and enjoy games on all these systems but I find that the console games are just pale version of what the PC has to provide. And what about the Bards Tales series, Kings Quest series, Papyraus racing games, GT3&4 etc......

Being more of a PC game fan over the console games my favorites list would be..

1. Decent.. the first pc game that got me hooked for endless hours

2. Everquest 1.. first online game that I subscribed to for several years.

3. World of Warcraft.. my current online obsession.

All the old NHL series starting from Super Nintendo to PS to PS2....

NHL 2004 is my current favourite....have not really liked the last two versions.
I think I logged the most hours on this version....

Bond 007 on Nintendo 64

and Mario Kart on Nintendo 64

Bond and Mario Kart were awesome games and I logged a lot of hours on them for the fact that they were great games to play with your friends. Great time waster with your buddies.

1. Halo
2. Splinter Cell
3. Rainbow Six 3
4. Golden Eye: Rogue Agent
5. Halo 2

With the emphasis on on-line play, the quality of game play has gone down. Especially with sequels. Sequels have a week story and uninspired levels. The original Splinter Cell was an incredible game. The two sequels are quite dull, watered down and boring. Same with Rainbow Six and Halo. Halo 2 was good but didn't measure up the the first. I got through it soo fast whereas Halo 1 went on forever. One thing I've found with games like Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six is that you can now save at any point in the game and you have as many saves as you want. This takes all the challenge out of it. Kill a guy...save. Kill a guy...save. Kill a guy...save. Game finished.

Well although I only responded for PC and PS2, if we are including N64...well Golden Eye takes the cake. I logged alot and I mean alot of hours on that game. I had it down to playing with one hand. LOL Mario Racing Kart was also a cult favorite with countless hours logged. I also enjoyed Mario Tennis and lost some precious moments to that game. Did anyone play All Star Baseball on N64? That shit was sick. LOL
